Hi Julie!
I think the only time we'll be able to come is Thursday evening. Will you be there?
(Dh is getting his wisdom teeth out on Friday morning, and I'm not sure he'll feel up to coming to the conference on Saturday.)
I'd love to meet you!

CHEC conference
You don't have to be a member to go to the conference. The cost is slightly prohibitive; I think it's $69. Husbands may be free. There are tons of vendors selling a plethora of curricula and other homeschooling supplies. It can be overwhelming, but if you know that you'll be using HOD, you won't be ...

OT: Iowans, how was the NICHE conference?
Is it OK to make an off-topic post? I'm getting homesick hearing about the conference in Iowa. We moved to Colorado last fall, but all our family is in Iowa. We lived in Ames, Des Moines, and Council Bluffs and have family in Harlan and Eagle Grove. Carrie, it's nice to hear that you're originally f...

Hi Lesley!
We moved to CO last fall; we're in SW Denver. We've been homeschooling since the beginning. I just found HOD a few months ago and am planning to do Bigger and Beyond this fall.
Nice to "meet" you!

Misty of Chincoteague
We listened to a couple of them on audio CD and they were wonderful. Honey for a Child's Heart lists Misty of Chincoteague ; Sea Star ; Stormy, Misty's Foal ; and Born to Trot as suggested books in the category "Stories for Animal Lovers - Ages 9-12". It also says that Marguerite Henry is "considere...

Welcome Katie
I am new here too, so I wanted to say hello and welcome.
I will also be using Beyond with my dd who will be 6 in Oct. (And Bigger with my oldest two dds... and maybe LHTH with my 3yo )
From all I've read here, I think we're all going to love HOD!

Question about read-alouds when doing Beyond & Bigger...
Hello! Like a few of you, I am making the switch from MFW to HOD. I have loved everything I've read so far, and I can't wait to get my order together. My oldest two daughters will be in Bigger in the fall. My third daughter will be doing Beyond. So my question is about the storytime read-alouds. Wil...

Hi Jen!
Your post sounds almost like my story. I learned of HOD a couple of weeks ago through another message board and have been enthralled (reading all I can) ever since. I don't have items in my cart yet, but I'm making a list :) I too have a child (dd) who will turn 6 in Oct. She's on lesson 63 of the O...

Barbara,
When are you moving to Denver? That's where we are!
We moved here last fall and love it. Except that we miss being near our families in Iowa.
I hope your move goes smoothly.
