1st week with beyond
we've just completed our first week in beyond. it is really wonderful!! (not that i expected anything different.) we are all loving it! with our 3 month old, we're still totally without routine, which makes it hard to accomplish anything (at least for me), but we're slowly chipping away at it!

additional reading for blhfhg
just wondering if anyone has added literature, be it fiction or non fiction to beyond. we love reading here, and would love ideas of extras books to co-ordinate with the topics.

if so, how did it go? did you or your child get tired of something after 2 years with it? i know i'm always excited to do the next thing at the end of the year, but i'm sort of thinking it might work best for my son if give him 2 years of k.

as kids get older, i agree that they should be able to work more independently than they did as younger children. but one of the main reasons that i am homeschooling my children is for the time that i get to spend with them doing it. could you give me an idea of what moving them towards independence ...

my3sons (or anyone else combining), could you give me some specifics of how your day goes doing two programs? like how much of your day it takes. do you do bills, laundry, etc. in the middle of it, or are you occupied throughout the entire time?

i have a dd who i've purchased beyond for as her 1st grade program. she is a perfect fit for it. (skill level, etc.) she has a little brother who is probably going to be 2 grades behind her. (3 if he's slow to want to do school, but i'm hoping for the 2 that their ages put them apart.)
