1). Little Hearts makes a terrific first grade year!

2). I've never, ever heard of any school that finishes phonics in K. Most only introduce consonants sounds (and not special sounds like soft g or c) and ...

We officially finished Little Hearts today! Yea!! I know this is a big no-no, but with the impending option of public school looming ahead of us, we did the last 2 weeks in one so that we can move more quickly into Beyond. :(

This is just me, but when I type HOD, I am just using it as an acronym and saying Heart of Dakota. When I say Hodie, I pronounce it phonetically Ho (long o) die (long e). If you wanted to use the short o, you would need to spell it Hoddie and it ...

Here's an idea for you....I did this with my kiddos for part of their K year and they still remember the things from the "list of attainments", esp. the birds. Go to the amblesideonline.com site and click on year 0 . It is a wonderful list of books and a pretty meaty list of attainments for a child ...

I believe the answer is yes, you are able to copy for use within your family. I think you idea with the rhymes sounds wonderful and will make for a cherished memory of this time!
