OT Anyone in Missouri/St. Louis area?
My Dh was recently laid off. He has a potential position near St. Louis. We have never been to Missouri. So I wanted to get some info from other homeschoolers on the area. From what I can find, it is a easy state to homeschool in. We have only been here in TN for a year. We would love to stay, but i...

combining HOD and Sonlight??
I am torn between these two programs. I purchased Little Hands for my almost 5 yr old and my 2 yr old to do. But haven't started yet. I plan on doing Little Hearts with the 5yr old when we finish little hands in the Fall. My only concern is that with little hands there is not other literature includ...

OK if we wait and do Preparing in the Fall, could we do DITHOR now? I was thinking we would do DITHOR 2/3, R&S English 2 and our math. We would do this until the Fall when we start Preparing. When we finish DITHOR 2/3 and English 2, we would then go to the next level. Would this work? I am also goin...

She is able to do a decent amount of writing, but does not like to do a lot. She likes to write stories or write in a journal, but not worksheet type things. If I ask her to write something say about what we have done in history. She will balk at it. But if I ask her to make up a story or give her s...

I think I was confused on what level was what. I meant Bigger the whole time. The two I am considering is Bigger and Preparing. I think she is between the two in abilities. I know she is way above Beyond. I just had the names confused. The only thing that has me hesitant about Bigger is doing ...

I think she falls somewhere in the middle of the two programs. She reads very well and I plan to us DITHOR with her. She has some grammar knowledge but not a whole lot. I plan to use a different math with her. I think Beyond may be the best place to start with her. But I am hesitant because we alrea...

Preparing Hearts before Bigger
I am thinking of using HOD with my dd's. My dd is 8 1/2 and reads well. We are coming from trying to do MFW Adventures and not succeding with it. My dd really doesn't want to do American History again. I think MFW bored her when we were trying to use it. I was thinking of Doing Preparing first and t...

100 Easy Lessons /Reading Made Easy
We uses 100 Easy Lessons with my oldest. It worked fairly well. We tried with my almost 5yr old and she was not interested past the first lesson or two. It may be her age, but she is not as wiggly as my oldest dd was. I was wondering what makes Reading Made Easy different from 100 Easy Lessons. Is i...

I used MFW 1st with my oldest and liked most of it. Then we tried WP ANimal Worlds, but didn't like that much. We went back to MFW Adventures this year, but it just didn't work for us like 1st did. I also tried MFW K with my youngest, but it didn't work either. Part of that being we are not able to ...
