We will be using Bigger with my 9/10 year old. (the has a b-day half way through the year) Technically he could go to the new one, but I wanted him to cover the American history. But loking at the materials, I am glad we are where we are. I think these books will be totally appropriate for him, and ...

Your story is very similar to why we started homeschooling. Two of my children asked me to homeschool them. One was getting in trouble because he is wiggly and a bit impulsive and the other one was ahead of the class and bored. We haven't looked back and are in our 5th year. I have been a bit of a c...

I have others tell me as well who have children with special needs, that Math U See is great. My 5 year old is just starting out and I went ahead and purchased Singapore even though the reviews say that it is better for children without learnign disablilities, but we are doign earlybird 1A - so it i...

Well right now he is working well above grade level as is, using 4th grade Abeka text as a 3rd grader and at that they are "easy" for him. I am hoping Singapore will be more challanging. We did the placement test and looks like 4A/B is the right fit for him. He has used Miquon before so has a little...

My LHFHG has the spine cut off. I put the pages in clear page protectors so when we get messy, my manual won't. Also I use wet-erase markers to make notes, that way when I use it again I can just wipe it off and the pages are still in good shape. Almost evey paperback book we have I end up cutting o...

Singapore Math in Bigger Appendix?
I will be using bigger with my 4th grader. He has been using Abeka but since Singapore is recommended, I looked at Singapore and think he will be ok with Singapore 4A/4B. My question, does Bigger have assignments for 4A/4B in the appendix? Saving my pennies for the Bigger Textbook which would probab...

Question about Science in "Bigger Hearts"
I am buying Bigger Hearts for my soon to be 4th grader. If I plan to use the science from the extension package since my guy is older, do I still need the science books from the economy package?
Thanks!
Thanks!

I switched from the MFW . We are finishing our year with Rome to Reformation. It was ok for my older kids, but did seem like History took most of the day and we had little time for the 3Rs. ALso we spent a loooong time on Rome, which was great and had some great spiritual insights, but feels now lik...

I will be using BHFHG with my 9 yo. Hmmm, looking the ages others put, do you think I could do the history portion with my 8th graders (ages 13/14)? I have a few of the books, but not all, and the Eggleston books look age appopriate for them. I wonder because the olders ones have done MFW and have c...
