Thank you. I also looked at the older guides and think they will be great for my kids. Thanks for sharing. I am hoping our year goes well!

Picture study, foreign language, classical music...?
I am just wondering if heart of dakota includes Charlotte Mason style picture study, classical music study, foreign language, or handicrafts? I have looked through the levels, but didn't see it, but might have missed it.

Re: Sample schedule for teaching LHTH, LHFHG, and BLHFHG?
Thank you Alicia. That is helpful
My children don't work as well later in the day either. I know we will have to do math and reading /phonics in the morning. They love read alouds so those could happen any time.

Thank you. I will check out the thread. I will do the boxes on the left together and I am planning to do the younger two half time and stagger them.

Thanks for the reply. I am guessing I will just have to try different things. Not having a schedule might be better for us too. We shall see.

Re: MFW vs. HOD
Thanks ladies. I have decided to try HOD. My kids will be in three separate guides, which I am a little nervous about, but I know it's the best placement. Are there any threads on here about scheduling the day with multiple young ones? We will be doing LHTH, LHFHG, BLHFHG. So no independent kids yet...

MFW vs. HOD
Hi, I am wondering if anyone on here has used MFW and if so what the differences between the two programs are? I have heard HOD has more character development and that the Bible is more about developing the child's personal faith. I have also heard that the books are more living books than MFW. If y...

Re: placement question
Thanks for your replies. According to the placement chart my kuds should be in 3 separate guides. I will do that. I am a little nervous about running three guides and possibly four in the future though! But we shall see how it goes

Re: does heart of dakota work for large families?
Ok. So if my kids are in the same guide, then they would finish high school at the same time?
