Re: Which curriculum for my 8yo 3rd grader?
I'm just wondering what the original poster chose and how it's going. I hope you are all adjusting well. I've been making a transition from full BJU curriculum to HOD. This year we are about half and half and next year I hope to be almost all HOD. Wondering how it is going for you all.

Timeline on wall - adding to it year after year
Hello again!
I am planning to start a timeline in LHFHG on our rec room wall. We are blessed with huge room and lots of wall space to do this, so i was planning on keeping it up year after year (or at least until we hit the preprinted notebooks) and just adding to it. However, in looking at the ...

Re: Creative writing
Thank you for the reply.
Can I ask what other types of writing are scheduled in Preparing? I looked but could not find.
I will have to go back in and look at the higher guides as well. I didn't see separate writing instructions. I'm sure I just over looked it.
Thanks again!

Creative writing
If I choose different grammar program than R&S, how does that affect writing? In other words, it says in the summary of Preparing that creative writing is included weekly. Is that accomplished through the R&S resource? I guess I'm thinking of some practical things like letter writing, how to write a ...

CLP science resources
Hello, again!
For first and second grade science, is the entire book scheduled in the guide? I like all the topics covered and hope to cover them all. Even if HOD changed up the order, I still hope it's all covered.
Also, I was on CLP's sure to look into the resources a bit more and noticed there ...

Re: Ideas on Creating a HOD COOP Experience
So I'm new and haven't done this yet but I was thinking of trying to do a co-op with younger kids, like LHFHG/Beyond age. I was thinking we could just save the activities from the rotating box and do them on co-op day since alot of those activities can be fun in groups. I was also thinking of ...

Re: Covering geography - map work
Thank you so much for your thoughtful reply. This is the last little piece I need to figure out, mainly because I am concerned about the testing. I will take time to think over and pray about what you've said.

Covering geography - map work
I looked at three of the elementary guides and did not see a book of maps, etc so I'm wondering if I need to add this in? I noticed a geography box that rotates in the mix, but I don't see any resources for it. Again, I just looked at 3 elementary guides.

What is latest edition of LHFHG
I found a 2007 edition. Is that most recent? If not, how do the resources line up with that edition? What are changes to newer edition (if there is one)?

Substituting in lhfhg package
Does anyone know if the Storytime set is considered "one title" eligible for subbing? I don't need those books, and would like to get devotion book instead.

Re: More questions from the newbie!
Thank you!
We are actually in TRL now also and Bob books, etc. I am trying to figure out our next step because there's a curriculum fair in a few weeks and I'd like to have an idea what to look for there :) For me, going into sale with a plan is must or else I'll get a bunch of stuff that doesn't ...

More questions from the newbie!
1. If I use LHFHG in first and my son is reading, where does that fit in the boxes? I see storytime which is me reading to him. Is this where the ER guide comes in? Do I need to get the guide for Beyond also for this year so I can have the ER? Ir do just pick my own book at library?

Thank you for the quick reply!
I do see the Thinking Skills (McGraw) scheduled in the Fine Motors box for Grade 1. Where are the other two R&S books for Grade 1 scheduled? In the appendix?
