HS World Geo English question
Hi All, We are new to HOD high school and I have a question regarding the World Geography English section. We are using Rod & Staff English 7. I'm wondering when I will need the "Boy Set" series or are those only used with the BJU Fundamentals of Literature? I can't seem to find anything in the guid...

Which guide will we end on in HS?
Hi! Our son who will be 9 y.o. next week is going into fourth grade next month. We just finished Bigger Hearts and are heading into Preparing Hearts for the upcoming year. Even though the HOD guides are age and ability based, there are guides for each grade K through 12. If we stick to our current s...

Missions to Modern and English 6
Hi! Our 12 yo is currently using Revival to Revolution and we consider him to be in 6th grade. I see the next guide finishes English 6. It's my understanding that the Rod and Staff English series generally corresponds to the grade, but I see the last High School guide only completes English 8. I'm j...

Re: Anyone homeschool year round?
Thank you all SO much! This is exactly what I needed to hear. Lots of things to consider that I hadn't thought of. Thank you, MelInKansas, for pointing out the obvious about not switching guides at the same time. That makes so much sense financially and practically for me and general family sanity! ...

Anyone homeschool year round?
Hi! I have a son in Res. to Ref. and another son in LHFHG (and an almost 3 year old daughter). I am seriously considering going to year round school to ease the load during the "school year" and to prevent the summertime loss of information. Any of you do that? I'm not sure how I would like to go ab...

Re: 4 days/wk vs. 5 days/wk
Thank you all so much for taking the time to explain the logistics behind why Carrie wrote the guides this way. I'd love to integrate other subjects or activities on Fridays for my older son that we don't seem to ever have time for. I know it certainly won't go well if he gets a day off and my 2nd g...

4 days/wk vs. 5 days/wk
Hello! Just wondering why my 2nd grader has 5 days per week in LHFHG and my 5th grader has 4 days per week in Res. to Ref. We figured out the remaining days of our school year and it looks like my 2nd grader has more days left. Just wondering if I'm missing something here. I know the 5th day is opti...

So you just check your student's daily work to make sure he/she is getting it?

No quizes/tests for Following The Plan 5?
If we want to do quizes and tests for Following The Plan, English 5, do I need to purchase those separately? I don't remember having the option to buy them from HOD. Do any of you use them?

Re: Dictation for a fifth grader?
My question is when do we do the dictation? Is it on our own or is it listed in the teacher's guide? (I'm doing Res. to Ref with my 5th grader)
