Re: Now that Reading Made Easy is over...

Carrie has scheduled the emerging readers very nicely. You will have to purchase Beyond guide and the emrging reader books (unless you can find them at your library). But it will not affect your schedule when you fully begin Beyond. In the appendix of Beyond she has scheduled each book and comprehen...

Re: Now that Reading Made Easy is over...

Hi Tiffanieh! My son, also a first grader, finished RME a few weeks ago and we dove right into the emerging reader books recommended in Beyond. He is doing quite well! Are you close to finishing LHFHG? I would not recommend going into a different curriculum if you are planning on continuing with Bey...

HOD not enough?!

If you are new to HOD, have you asked yourself if HOD is enough? If you have already started, have you tried to ADD ON other curriculums? Do you sometimes feel like your kids are not getting enough when you hear other homeschool moms talk about ALL THE WORK their kids have to finish...

We have finally had a good week! Life has been interrupting our normal schedule, but we are back on track and thankful that HOD has allowed our school time to always be succesful.

Beyond Unit 10 Day 4

Here is a water cycle video that will go along nicely with the Science Exploration for Unit 10 in Beyond. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YswL4dID ... re=related
it's a little corny - but a visual + music always helps my 6 year old interested!

Re: Another quiet time question...

Kathleen, My son is 6 and he started his quiet time this summer. We are using what another homeschool mom shared with us. "Morning-Time Devotions" for children ages 4 and up: Each set of 4 cassetes. Each side has a story, Bible verse, song and prayer (sorry I cannot finde the link!). Thy Word Creati...

Re: Week In Review 10-9-08

Julie, thank you for such a beautiful comment on our blog. Samuel and I are feeling VERY important! The picture on our blog that you called "Garden of Eden" is a picture we took in Costa Rica this summer. Can you believe it? Everytime I look at this picture I cannot believe we were actually there, s...

Re: Sarah Whitcher's Story - BEYOND

Carrie, I looooove all the books you have chosen for storytime! So, I purchased all 3 sets (boy, girl and classics and please don't tell my husband...). So maybe if we finish way ahead of time we will get to read another in the same genre. That way I will get to share the books with my 6 year old is...

What an excellent idea, Ann. Thanks. We will begin tomorrow by reading until he wants to stop!
Now, why did I not think about that?
