Repeat Beyond for one so other can join in?
For those of you with more experience and farther down the HOD road. ......1st year hsing. I am running two guides back to back. They are Little and Beyond. I have been researching options to get the two kids combined somehow. They are vastly different on skills. My latest revelation was to possibly...

Re: Science in Little and Beyond
Thank you everyone. All your advice has helped. We do books from library and watch How It Works and other things. My kids really like "experiments". They attended a private Christian school for one year and they must have done pretty neat experiments. My kids don't acknowledge what we do for science...

Science in Little and Beyond
We started using HOD this year, our first year homeschooling. We are enjoying it very much. I am "missing" one thing. The science? I am using 2 guides. One for each of my kids, Little and Beyond. Mind you, I have no experience or training. I have a friend who is using Bigger and that science is more...

Re: a Zippy 7 yr old girl
For English/grammar, one idea that Julie often suggests is to do the lessons in the guide but not just on Fridays. So, you can do them 2-5 days a week (maybe add a day in every few weeks). Then, when you are done with all 34 lessons in the Beyond guide, you can start Rod and Staff 2. We are doing i...

Re: a Zippy 7 yr old girl
I am not sure what you mean by the quantity of reading she would need to do in Bigger. In bigger, you as the teacher still read everything to the kids. They are only reading the Emerging readers, books in general or participating in DITHOR. As for English 2 and whether or not to start it now or wai...

Re: a Zippy 7 yr old girl
Just to touch base with you......My friend let me borrow her Beyond set to try it out with my daughter. She instantly loved the History. She wanted to read more. We went through a week of the lessons and with reviewing my friends Bigger book, I decided to stick with Beyond. My daughter isn't ready f...

If I describe my daughter, would you be able to tell me if your program would suit her. Is your program flexible to adjust material level to child's abilities. Fyi...I started homeschooling this year and am using HOD Little Hearts with my son. Love it for him/me. We are doing great with it. It is ju...
