Re: Little or Beyond?
This makes me feel so much better! I truly feel this is where God is leading me. I flip-flopped between HOD and MFW (which my sister-in-law uses, but I just can't get away from HOD. I am so incredibly drawn to it. The guides seem so simplistic, yet yhe curriculum solid. I cannot wait until I get thi...

Little or Beyond?
My ds, who will be 6 in July, is on the last leg of his K year in public school. According to standard, he is on-target. Not ahead or behind. Since we will be homeschooling next, I'm still agonizing over where to place him. According to the placement chart, he is technically suited for Beyond. He is...

Beginners Bible Substitution
This question has been asked, I'm sure, but I can't find my answer specifically.
We already have the Beginner's Bible in the ER set and I want to know if I can sub it for another book. I know 3 subs are allowed, but wasn't sure if this pertained to the Bibles.

Re: Cost
Curious as to whether or not you called HOD about a potential payment plan? And if so, how'd that go? (If I'm not being too nosey. If I am, please don't feel obligated to respond.)

Beyond "The Storm"
This may seem like a ridiculous question, but I guess those don't really exist if we are practicing what we preach to our children, though... I am trying to nail everything down and after going over the downloadable sample of the guidebook for Beyond, my question is this: where is the poem The Storm...

Re: Bigger or Preparing for 3rd
One thing that has really irked me this year has been not knowing where he is grammatically. The focus has been on concepts, comprehension, and thinking skills. That is great, but grammar doesn't count!! Grrrr.

Re: Bigger or Preparing for 3rd
I think I'll go with Bigger. I am certain he *could* do Preparing, BUT, I don't want to overwhelm him, or us, our first year homeschooling. And with him in PS, I regretfully admit that I am not fully aware of his capabilities. That is one of my reasons for homeschooling..I want to be 100% aware if w...

Re: Bigger or Preparing for 3rd
Thanks. I am leaning toward Bigger, but I just don't want him to be bored. I guess if I need to keep him moving forward, we can find ways to do that.
I really am so in love with this curriculum. I cannot wait to place my order for the upcoming school year!

Bigger or Preparing for 3rd
My 8-year-old son is finishing up 2nd grade in public school. He is advanced, if not gifted, in reading (4th grade level) and math (upper 3rd grade level). However, his writing is not great. Neither is his grammar. This year, it seems that grammar matters little and all the focus is on comprehension...
