Re: time line in Creation to Christ
The chronology of Egypt is highly debatable. I think everyone is beginning to see that the old chronology they were so comfortable with has some problems, but they can't seem to agree what it should be. That's my understanding, and I believe, Diana Waring goes into this on the CDs. So, while we may ...

Re: When are books read for DITHOR
I guess I assumed that the DITHOR time in the Language Arts block was for the DITHOR workbooks and lessons, not for the reading. I saw somewhere that the DITHOR work takes about 20min. And yet a bunch of pages were to be read each day or week. I can't remember now where I saw the page number recomme...

When are books read for DITHOR
I don't see a schedule for reading the literature books for DITHOR. Are they supposed to be read in the child's own time? Everyday? How many pages per day for a 4/5 level child who is using the boy book set?
Thanks

How long does each block take?
I'm going to use this next week to plan and I was just curious if anyone can give me an idea of the approximate amount of time for each block. I tried to make my own estimates of how long I thought it would take, and I can't make it fit in 4hrs. How long do you take to do these blocks. Here's my est...

Re: Why are there high school history books in CTC?
julsoliveira, The book of interest is The Story of the Ancient World written by Guerber (very different than The Story of the World)! The language is much higher and the sentence structure is more complex! sethers_mom, I admit that when we used CtC it was much more difficult than is typical in toda...

Re: Why are there high school history books in CTC?
That link came personally recommended from both a trained dyslexia specialist as well as several moms of dyslexic kids. So I trust that it is an accurate estimation. I understand that, by nature, an estimation isn't necessarily accurate, obviously. But I wouldn't expect for it to be *that* far off. ...

Why are there high school history books in CTC?
I'm trying to place a 15yo with dyslexia and other learning disorders. I think he will either be in Preparing Hearts or CTC. Am I understanding correctly that CTC history books are read independently? My son reads independently at about a 6th grade level, but with a 3rd grade fluency speed. I actual...

What is the Scope & Sequence of Narration?
I can easily see the scope and sequence of history, math, and grammar but what about the other subjects like narration? I'm sure it starts out with just oral narrations and progresses to written. One guide said there was lots of handholding. Can someone please outline the scope and sequence of narra...
