IEW--Do I print Level B grammar rules of SRN?
Hi all, I'm compiling the resources for Res to Ref for my dd who will be a 7th grader this fall. I've printed off the Student Resource Notebook pages of the IEW Medieval writing program. Do I also need to print off the Level B Grammar Rules pages, or do I depend on the Grade 6 book of Rod & Staff to...

Re: Are there lists of the book titles used each week?
Is the order shown on the website pretty similar to the order the books are introduced in the program? If so, that's super helpful!

Re: Breakfast/lunch ideas?
We just worked on this topic yesterday ! :) I made a chart with all of this information on it, including graphics, but I don't know how to put it up on here. I'd be happy to share it if someone can tell me how to do so. Here is what we came up with for our meals. I'm trying to keep it very simple an...

Re: Are there lists of the book titles used each week?
I love the idea of the Washi tape! What I plan to do is to have the books labeled by the first unit in which they are used. It's ok if they are used for more than one unit. :D I'd just like to know at a glance when I need to pull them out of their storage shelves and put them in the schooling...

Are there lists of the book titles used each week?
Hello again, I have more questions. ( I just placed my order; I still feel a bit like hyperventilating, but that's ok. ) I'm wondering if there are lists somewhere of which book titles are used each week for each program. I'm transferring in from doing Sonlight last year, and there was a list ...

Older Diana Waring Set, will it work for Preparing Hearts??
Hi all, In my purging and preparing for next school year, I came across my 4 CD set of Diana Waring's History Alive "What in the World is going on Here?" CD's. The front says "REVISED EXPANDED". I can't find any dates on them. I tried looking at CBD and Rainbow resources for selection titles, but th...

Re: Free Reading
I agree with the suggestion Farmfamily just made. We've taken to collecting a variety of readers for our children. On our shelves you'd find readers from Abeka, Keepers of the Faith, McGuffey, Christian Light, as well as the Pathway readers. Our children have loved reading through these on their own...

Re: Needing to keep focused, but missing HOD
Your Angie has some extra special challenges, doesn't she. It's wonderful to hear how you are persevering alongside of her. :D I'll be praying that her surgery does go well and that it helps her eyes work together as a team. It sounds like you've gotten some good help and direction for Angie. I thou...

Re: Read-Aloud Question
First, I applaud your desire to have your son learn so well in 2 languages. :D Back in the time before I had children (feels like long, long ago when dinosaurs roamed the earth, ) I taught a wee bit of Jr. High Spanish in a small Christian school. There were several things the students really ...

Re: Needing to keep focused, but missing HOD
Have you considered pursuing Vision Therapy for your daughter? I have seen great improvements in my daughter's schoolwork, outlook, attitudes, and abilities since she went through vision therapy. She still needs a prism in her glasses, but she is so much farther along than before we started the ther...

Re: How much daily teaching time is required for each level?
Thank you for chiming in on preparing times! Here is where I'd like to clarify. See, if I add up all of the recommended times for the guides we're looking at, I'm coming up with Little Hearts: 90 minutes Beyond: 120 minutes Preparing: 210-240 minutes Res to Ref: I'll call 50 minutes of my time, base...

Re: Intro and please tell me if this is crazy!
I have been all eyes watching this thread develop since I'm soon to be a mom of 8 and will be in a very similar situation a few years down the road when all of our children are school age. I don't have much to add, but I did wonder if you saw this thread which I found to be encouraging: http://www.h...
