Yes, I listened to the samples...and she does talk fast. I sorta lean more towards the SOTW cds for the below 6th grade crowd....but, that is just with going from samples not actual experience.
I did notice her enthusiasm as well.

Is there a way to see samples of cheerful cursive before I buy it. I cant find samples anywhere...and I am usually pretty good at that!

I still need to pray about which to do. I have a feeling ds7 will get lost with the biographical study. He may do better with the event study in Beyond. Also, his attention span is not good at all....so shorter history readings ...

I noticed that you are planning a 4 year cycle after Preparing (one per year). My dd is doing Bigger next fall and she will be in 4th grade. So, that means that she wont hit the 4 year cycle till 6th grade(6yh, 7th and 8th and 9th)......

Have you looked at Christian Light Education (CLE)....I believe that they dont use talking animals as well. You may be able to get their readers (which have awesome character building stories)!
