DITHOR scheduling for Bigger
I just got my Bigger curriculum today & this will be our first time using DITHOR. I have always condensed the 5 days per week down to 4 days per week for schooling & I'm planning to do it for Bigger as well. I would love to hear from others who do the same & how you condense DITHOR as well. Thank yo...

Re: K, but already reading
Ok, thanks, he's currently in the 2nd set of Bob books, but I'm sure he'll be done with even the 3rd set by the time we begin K.

LOVE LHTH
I started using LHTH with my 4 year old son last August. He already knew his letters names & sounds & he was already reading. So I was needing to beef it up some, but I definitely felt that LHFHG was too advanced for him. I added on crafts & coloring sheets that went along with the Bible story we we...

Re: K, but already reading
I'm not sure what level he is at.....how do I know?? But I know he hates phonics & gets bored with it & will eventually hate reading altogether if I try to do anymore phonics with him. That's really not an option & since my husband & I both learned to read without being taught phonics we don't see i...

Gap Year?
I am doing LHTH with my son this year & we LOOOOVE it. I am looking forward to many more years with HOD. But I recently heard on facebook that there is a gap year so to speak, & that if you do a guide each year starting with LHTH as preschool you won't have a guide for 12th grade. I am wondering WHY...

K, but already reading
I am planning to use LHFHG for K, this August, but my son is already a beginning reader. He did Your Baby Can Read as a baby & at age 3 we did Teach Your Child to Read in 100 Easy Lessons & then moved on to Bob Books. What should I do in LHFHG when it says to do phonics?

Any plans for additional grade levels?
As I'm planning it out (we're only just beginning) I see I can get to 8th grade using HOD. Only 4 more grade levels needed to go all the way. I was just curious if there were any plans or any possibility of additional grade levels being added on in time?

Re: The time has come!
My son will be 4 in less than 2 weeks. Last fall I was debating on whether or not to begin a preschool curriculum. I've been doing an almost daily Bible study since he was a baby & when he turned 2 I taught him the alphabet & numbers & colors. When he turned 3 I started reading lessons. He LOVES to ...

Re: Should I switch from Sonlight?
I am not yet homeschooling, starting up this fall, but I had fallen in love with Sonlight when I first saw it. But the more I looked into it I just kept having so many reservations. And I saw so many non-Christians using it, just removing the occasional "Christian" book. I couldn't ignore the fact t...
