Re: purchase breakdown first half of RTR
It would probably be very helpful to speak with HOD this week. They could maybe work out a payment plan or help you know what you will need for the first half of the year.

Re: How To Teach From Multiple Guides
Welcome! First, you would want to make sure that you have looked over HOD's placement chart to see which guides your children fit into best. Based on their ages and assuming skills are at age level, you might consider combining your 4 and 6 year olds in Little Hearts for His Glory. Then, for your 8 ...

Re: Placement Help: Combing kids in Beyond or Bigger
I'm just finishing up with Beyond with my 3rd grader. Since your 6 year old sounds like she is a little ahead for her grade, I think you could easily combine your two children. Beyond will also be gentle enough to give your 3rd grader time to make strides in handwriting and reading. Beyond and Bigge...

Re: New to homeschooling
Welcome! I remember how nervous I was when I brought one of my children home to homeschool. You said you do not have money or time to waste on the wrong curriculum and the good news is you've found the best! :) My 3 youngest children all started out with a virtual school taught at home. Now that we ...

Re: New here!
Welcome, Vicki! My 12 year old daughter is also working on Creation to Christ and it has been such a full year! We are doing the extensions, although, along with my daughter's homeschool co-op literature class, it is almost too much. Every book Carrie selected is sooo good! We just don't want to mis...

Re: Sneak Peek #4: New World History Guide
This is great timing as I have had Total Health Middle School in my cart to possibly purchase. My daughter will start 8th grade next fall so we might still do the ms text but I'm going to check out if they are very different. Maybe, I'll do a lighter health class next year knowing that looking ahead...

Re: AHHHH! I can't believe I said that!!
I can really relate! My dd is also working on Creation to Christ as a 12 year old. She started last spring with extensions plus one homeschool co-op class so we have been slowly making progress. Yesterday, we finished reading God King and she was soooo sad that the book was done. We hadn't had time ...

Re: Sneak Peek #1: New World History Guide
I'm really happy with your choice for Biology! I hopped over to Christian Books to look at some excerpts and I am hooked! The text was so well written, I found myself disappointed when I couldn't read more. I loved Biology in high school and college but it was all secular. I am very impressed by how...

Re: Switching it up this New Year?
My 6 year old is currently using LHFHG and he is really loving it! It sounds like your 7 year old son is doing really well with it, also. I know how fun Beyond looks and I am using it with my 8 year old daughter this year. However, I would really recommend sticking with LHFHG with your 2 children. Y...

Re: (another) Substitution question
It looks like you'll have $16.99 to spend on other books since you already have a children's Bible. If I were you, I would pick out a book as close to that value as possible from the Beyond Girl's, Boy's, or Classic Interests Books. For instance, Benjamin West and His Cat Grimalkin, comes close in v...

Re: Just some reassurance on using HOD...
Your story was so touching, it brought tears to my eyes. We just started HOD this spring with 2 of our children and we have also been blessed by the Bible verses, devotions, and stories. Every day we are able to apply what we learn to our lives. I can't wait to start school back up but my kids are u...

Re: Singapore question
Which Singapore math level are you using? Bigger schedules activities to accompany 2A/2B. If you use 1A/1B you can use the Beyond guide. If you use 3A/3B you will need the textbooks. Sometimes it's nice to have the textbooks anyhow but the activities are great!

Re: Juggling Multiple Guides
This year might just be the perfect time for you to try your 2 oldest with HOD as your younger children have the early guides that are meant to be completed with little time invested each day. I understand that Preparing is the first guide that begins to encourage some independence and CtC will defi...

Re: Hands-On or Drill, Drill, Drill?
I have daughters in Bigger and Creation to Christ. While there is quite a bit of seatwork, we have been very happy with the hands on projects. We have only done the first 5 weeks but have used many materials in our learning. In CtC, my daughter has used clay more than once. There are the watercolor ...

Re: CTC Watercolor Tutorials All in One Place.
Thank you, Sara! You are a blessing to so many of us and most of all I'm sure to your family! :D Are your girls moving on to RtR? We will be using your tutorials all next year as we continue CtC and we will say a prayer for you and your family each time we peek at your paintings. ;) Have a wonderful...
