Singapore math help please

My two oldest are in Singapore Math 4b. We've struggled through Singapore off and on. I did recently get the HIG, and that does seem to help me in teaching them new concepts. However, they are currently going through some review pages, and having troubles. They don't seem to be remembering a lot of ...

Re: CTC and English

Thanks so much. That's exactly what I needed to hear! I'm enjoying a lighter English load this year, and so are the kids!

CTC and English

This has probably been posted somewhere before, but I couldn't find it. My twins are doing CTC this year, and so far it's been great! However, I do have a question about English. They are in fifth grade, and we are only just starting Rod & Staff English 4. If we are only in the book twice a week, it...

Re: LHFHG Singapore Math activities?

Deanna,

Unfortunately, I bought it back in March. I'm one of those people who starts thinking about next fall in January, and then just has to buy it! Good idea, though!

Re: LHFHG Singapore Math activities?

What about those of us who recently purchased the guide but haven't started using it yet? I wouldn't have purchased it had I known there would be an update before I needed it.

Re: Scripture Memory & Bible Time

Thanks for your response, Julie! I can see the benefit of having Bible time separately with each child. I often feel like my oldest two (who are twins in Preparing) get left out. I spend individual time with the others for school, but group the twins together. I feel like if I have individual time w...

Scripture Memory & Bible Time

I'm looking for ideas on how everyone keeps track of all of their children's memory verses. With three guides and Sunday School verses, I'm not doing a great job with tracking everyone and doing review! Do any of you use incentives for memory work? Also, do you have Bible time together, or just do i...

HOD & Singapore

I just wanted to share what a blessing the BLHFHG guide has been for my daughter and me. I did BLHFHG with my older two, but wasn't using Singapore Math at that time, so didn't utilize the math activities Carrie has included. However, I am using it this year with my daughter, and the math activities...

Re: Question about DITHOR

That's what I was thinking. That makes it more manageable. My only problem now is restraining my son from finishing his books too quickly!

Question about DITHOR

Can someone explain to me how you use DITHOR part-time? I know some of you use it only 2-3 times per week. So, do you only have the kids read out of their books 2-3 times per week, and do the activities for those days? Or do you still have them read each day, but only do a few of the activities? I g...

Re: Need help with choosing for multiple children

Thanks for your thoughts. I'm hoping to hear some more people chime in. Has anyone else has this issue, and what did you do? I'm thinking more and more that it would not be a good thing to have my daughter do LHFHG, as it wouldn't challenge her. But, I'm still nervous with the thought of having thre...

Need help with choosing for multiple children

I'm thinking about next fall, and I'm looking for some advice. My twins will be ten and will be doing CTC. My daughter, who will be 7 and in second grade could probably place in Bigger, but would probably do better with Beyond. I'm not using HOD with her this year. I will also be adding my five-year...
