Re: beefing up Rev to Rev..any new thoughts?
Yes, I have just heard that 8th graders can get high school credits if the course work is applicable.

beefing up Rev to Rev..any new thoughts?
Hi! I found an older thread from 2007 regarding beefing up Rev to Rev. We will be using the extensions to get a full history credit (is any work recommended with them or just the readings?) and the Advanced science to get a science credit. We may or may not beef up the fine arts and bible. This is f...

Re: Using Bigger for a 10/11 year old? What about 12/13?
Thanks!
So my 8.5 year old places squarely into Bigger, my 10 year old in CTC, and my 12 yr old CTC/some RTR.
We are actually leaning towards sending my 12 yr old to full-time school at the Christian school, so let's just look at my 8 and 10 yr old.
Thanks!

Using Bigger for a 10/11 year old? What about 12/13?
Anyone using Bigger for a 10/11 year old? Originally I was planning on having her in CTC (we did half of Preparing last year-didn't make it through due to circumstances), but I am thinking it would be easier on me to combine her with her (almost)9 year old brother in Bigger. We are probably going to...

WWYD with these ages...
I asked this on the Facebook group awhile back, thought I'd post here to get more opinions. This is our first year using HOD (2nd yr HSing), we aren't very far into it yet but we are loving it! To make an easy transition into this method of homeschooling (last year was very chaotic) we started with ...

Re: DITHOR guide and books question
Thanks! It is my older -6th grade son- who is more of the struggling reader though, and then my daughter who will be a 4th grader reads at/or above grade level. I was just unsure which book pack to start with because even though the book pack is titled as level 3, it says next to it (3.5-5.1) so the...

DITHOR guide and books question
I have 2 kiddos who I am just going to start on the same Readers level. My daughter is an advanced reader, while my son struggles some. They will be 4th and 6th grade, but I thought I'd have them start with the level 3 book pack even if they can move though it quickly. My question was, will they nee...

Starting Beyond with math 1B?
We are going to be starting Beyond as soon as all the books come in the mail. Yay! I gave my son the Singapore placement test and he aced 1a but got a 50 on 1b. So is it hard to follow the beyond guide starting with 1b? How does that work?
Thanks!
Thanks!

Re: When switching from Easy Grammar to Rod And Staff...
Thanks Andrea, Actually he is still struggling with EG 5. He has to do a ton of corrections, the same things over and over. Sometimes I think it's laziness or trying to hurry through. But other times he seems to genuinely not "get it" no matter how many times I expain. We also use the Daily Grams. W...

Re: When switching from Easy Grammar to Rod And Staff...
I was looking through some of the R&S example pages. In level 4 I noticed the diagramming . Is that initially taught in 4 or is it easy to switch to? My dd is doing great in EG 3, but there is not that type of diagraming in EG at all. Even for my son in EG 5. Just wondering about putting them in RS ...

Re: Math Quesrion: I'm worried I have messed up!
Thank you so much for all the kind words of encouragement and advice! After each kid finishes the curriculum they are currently on, I think I will give them the placement tests for Singapore and MUS. I can't figure out between those 2 which to get. I'm hoping to get to look at them hands on this sum...

Math Quesrion: I'm worried I have messed up!
I need advice and reassurance. I am worried about my kids math skills. A little background. My 1st grader, Noah, is soon finishing up Saxon 1. I am not too worried about him, as he is young enough that I can easily switch him over to Singapore or MathUSee or whatever without much worry. He has been ...

language arts with Beyond
hi, we have decided to use Beyond with our 2nd grader. Am I correct that there is no Grammar section in Beyond? All I saw in the sample guide pages was a reference to doing spelling words under the Language Arts. We used Sing Spell Read Write for his 1st grade LA, so should I keep going with somethi...
