Re: Please pray for my family!
Praying for absolute peace and comfort in this painful time. I pray that you and your children may find strength in He who is all things good, and know that His sweet presence is there for every tear and cry for help. A dear friend recently shared the song "Sovereign Over Us" by Aaron Keyes and it b...

Re: LHFHG Combined or Not?
You have all been so helpful! It truly seems like it could probably work either way; it will just depend on whether or not my oldest will think she's having to do something "younger," to be with her sister (lately this seems to be an issue, but probably just a phase). As far as the placement chart g...

Re: LHFHG Combined or Not?
Thank you ladies for sharing your experiences. I've been looking over everything and had a few more questions come up that I hope I didn't need to post in a new thread. 1. Do most of you tend to view Beyond as a second grade guide, and use LHFHG as a first grade with appropriate phonics and math add...

LHFHG Combined or Not?
Hello! I have been doing a relaxed kindergarten year with my dd1, who will be 6 in August. We've used most of All About Reading 1, some formal math, and her handwriting is right on track. She definitely needs to continue with phonics as she has not yet covered silent e and started to become anxious ...

PreK with a 4.5 Year Old
Hello! Well, it's January, and I'm still trying to make a decision on preschool curriculum, combining my girls, homeschooling philosophy, etc. I always feel drawn back to HOD after perusing (and deciding on) it for the past two years! Here is what is in my cart right now for my 4.5 year old a...

Re: Beyond Unit 25 Day 5 - Armor of God
This is so neat! Thank you for sharing. It's hard to envision all of the activities, and this type of sweet (yet rock solid) imagery for my girls is what I think makes HOD special. Can't wait to get started!

Re: Character Training in HOD
Thank you for sharing! As a newbie, I find that very encouraging. I know no curriculum will in itself change our children's hearts; as you stated, only the Holy Spirit has that great task. However, HOD looks to me to be a brilliantly thought out vision from a very spiritual family, and every day on ...

Re: Decisions, Decisions!
Thank you so much for clearing the fog for me! I knew there was a simple solution I must be missing. It never even occurred to me to combine them and do the first 4 guides at 4 days a week. Then we could use that fifth day for art, nature study, more outside time, free reading...I am so excite...

Re: Decisions, Decisions!
If it helps, my 3.5 year old knows all of the letters and their sounds very well. My 2-year-old knows all the letters and most of their sounds, but doesn't recognize them as easily yet without mistakes, which is of course expected.
Blessings,
Jessica

Decisions, Decisions!
Hello! I've been looking over HOD for almost 2 years now...along with everything else out there. My little girls are sixteen months apart, with one turning 4 in early August this summer, and her sister turning 2 this past December. After oodles of research, I know that I want to follow a Charlotte M...
