Re: Book coming apart
I did buy it new, but with moving over the summer I'm sure I've lost the original receipt. I don't mind to try to fix it, I just don't want to risk making it worse!

Book coming apart
Hi, We are a little over half way through with LHFHG (and loving it by the way) but the teaching guide book is coming apart where it is glued. I'd like to keep it in good shape to use with my son in just a few short years. Has anyone else had this issue? Is there any kind of glue best to try to save...

Reddy Fox
I just wanted to tell everyone how adorable it was today. We finished the first book about Reddy Fox today (LHFHG). My daughter jumped up and down, absolutely joyful, and marched around the house all day today reminding me that Reddy Fox is still alive! She was so worried about him. We are loving Ki...

Math choices
We are using LHFHG this year (my first year of homeschooling.) I was gifted a brand new copy of Horizons K math w/ the teacher's manual, so we're using that this year. I'd like to try Singapore next year, especially since it goes along with the guide written. Are there any major changes between the ...

Re: Multiple guides
Thanks, everyone.
What do you all do with your toddlers during school time? So far, I have a basket filled with laminated sheets and a dry erase marker he can use. A peg board, a few books, and a few toy cars to play with.

Re: Multiple guides
One of the pinned posts at the top is for schedules. It is great to see how others do it. The good thing is the early years seems to be short. We will be doing LHTH and LHFHG this year, and total that shouldn't take us more than 2-3 hours a day. And then once they get to Preparing I think it is, th...

Multiple guides
I'm jumping the gun and getting ahead of myself, but I'm wondering how you all use multiple guides? We've only recently started Kinder with my DD, and I still have 2+ years to go before my son joins in on "real" school using HOD. Still though, I can't help but wonder if I'll be able to handle two se...

Re: Am I crazy to start now??
We've already started. My daughter told me she was bored, and ready to start school. This is our first real year homeschooling as well! We're almost three weeks in & really enjoying it.

Oh, that's a great idea. Thank you for that! I will do that.Candice wrote:That is definitely a gem---you'll have to jot down her response in the margin of the LHFHG guide so you can look back on it.
What a perceptive little girl : )

Re: My daughter's response, very funny!
She's a very funny child. She generally has a very logical, and slightly dry sense of humor. It always makes us smile.abrightmom wrote:Best. Answer. Ever.
I absolutely LOVE her.

My daughter's response, very funny!
We started LHFHG two weeks ago, after my daughter begged to start early. We're loving it so far, but I thought I'd share this little gem with you all today. After we had finished history, I asked her what she thinks she would have done if she was Eve. She looked at me very seriously and said, "Mom, ...

Re: Placed my order!
Thanks for the suggestion of the Emerging Reader books. I went and looked, and that is probably exactly what we'll do when the time comes.

Placed my order!
Hi everyone. This morning I placed my order for LHFHG! I'm a new homeschooling mother to my two children (soon to be 5, and 2 years.) I can't wait to watch my daughter grow and learn as we use this. The only changes we made was Horizons for math (I was given a free guide and books!), and my daughter...

Re: Do you go to a co op?
We had a co-op in the fall which was once a week for 7 weeks. It was not a problem because we were basically doing Bigger half-speed or three days a week at the most. I was doing it more for being with other kids dd's age. You can always do HOD 4 days a week. It would just take you into the next ye...
