Sequencing MtMM and US guides
He have been using HOD for four years and love it! I live overseas and have learned of another missionary friend here who is currently using HOD as well. I am currently using the MtMM guide for my daughter's 8th grade year and my friend is using US1 for her 9th grade son & 11th grade daughter. It is...

Re: Third Year of Spanish
Thank you! That is a good suggestion. I've never looked at CLEP material since we live overseas and the exams aren't offered here, but I can still look at covering the material to use for a third year.

Re: Third Year of Spanish
Thank you Daneale! My daughter will be in 7th grade, starting Rev-Rev in a couple months. I'm thinking ahead for high school planning. I have an older daughter who is in her third year of college at Biola. She is an elementary ed major and my youngest thinks she may want to pursue the same college a...

Third Year of Spanish
I would like my daughter to take 3 full years of Spanish in high school. I'm looking for ways I can accomplish this using HOD as written. At some point, I will need to find material to use for year 3. Any suggestions on how to go about this or what to use for an additional year.
Thank you!
Julie
Thank you!

Thank you everyone for taking the time to respond.
Stephanie, my oldest has used TT and I agree with your comments which is why I don't think I will go that route again. Maybe we can weave in some Singapore with our Horizons before we hit pre-algebra to help prepare my daughter.

What would you recommend for pre-algebra for a student who has taken a different path? We've been using Horizons.

Re: Pre-Algebra Recommendation
My daughter is using Horizons 5 now and I know we will continue with it for 6th grade.... so I'm thinking ahead too. ;) I'm not thrilled with the teacher's guide and am certain we will need more guidance once we hit pre-algebra. If I felt more confident in my teaching ability I would probably just s...

Pre-Algebra Recommendation
I have a child who will be completing Horizons math through grade 6. She does well in math, but it is her least favorite subject. I want her to have solid instruction as we move forward into upper math, but I don't want it to become a battle ground either. What pre-algebra would you recommend for a ...

Why only half of the genres in one year with DITHOR?
I'm selecting books for my daughter to use with DITHOR with CTC. She is an avid reader and it can be a challenge to keep up with finding grade level and content appropriate books for her to read. I love HOD's book packs and am purchasing the girl, 5/6 book set. Do all of the guides use DITHOR coveri...

Re: DITHOR Pacing
Wow Daneale, thank you so much for taking the time to offer a well thought out explanation and amazing sample! :D My original plan was to begin this year with Preparing, but our path was redirected when I became a caretaker to my precious mom for 8 months as she valiantly battled cancer which was to...

DITHOR Pacing
I purchased DITHOR, but won't actually have the guide in my hands for a couple months since we live overseas. I plan to use the 4/5 workbook with CtC next year. Does the teacher's guide offer suggestions for pacing students through DITHOR? It sounds like the student book can be used over the course ...

Re: CTC writing
Hi Poppy, My daughter will also be starting CtC as a 5th grader in the fall. We are in our first year using CAP Writing and Rhetoric and it's been a hit. I plan to continue with it next year. We already use Rod and Staff for grammar, but DITHOR will be new for us next year. I have to add that based ...
