Preparing Extensions
Hi Everyone, I have recently started Preparing with my 10yo boy after some time away from HOD. He is in 5th grade & LOVES to read, so I am having him read the extension books also. My problem is that I cannot find the correct version of the Usborne Encyclopedia of the Ancient World through our libra...

Re: Guides: tracking, assignments, multiple kids
I have made a spreadsheet for each of my children. It lists each subject from their guide for a week (set up like a calendar would be.) When we/they are done with a subject, we write the unit & day (such as 18-2) in the box. That way I can keep track of which subject is in which unit. We definitely ...

Re: Organizing Preparing Hearts
We found that extra wide dividers that do stick out beyond the page protectors at Office Max. Also, I really like the one 4-5 inch9 binder, but I keep about 4 weeks in a separate binder for my son to work on. When he is done, the pages get moved to the larger binder. That is my preference because I ...

Re: More questions......
That is exactly what I did with my 2 girls last year. This year we started LHFHG with my younger doing the K options even though she did not turn 5 until December (in WI she won't technically be K until next year.) Anyway, my 7yo is doing the 1st grade options (except for science). We are only doing...

Re: time for teacher in Preparing and CtC
I agree with Julie...about 1.5 hours in Preparing last year and about 1 hour this year in CTC.

Re: Help with DITHOR
Thank you for the responses so far! Julie, my boys are doing CTC and Bigger for 5th and 3rd grade. I have the 4-5 student book with 4/5 boys interest pack for my 11yo. I have the 2-3 student book with the book pack 2 for my 8yo. I have tentatively written up a new schedule to try after the new year,...

Help with DITHOR
Hi All, This is our 2nd year using HOD, and I love it!! I think the curriculum is absolutely amazing, and I thank God that there are people willing to put in all this work so that I can reap the benefits. Thank you Austins!!! We are running 3 guides right now...CTC with my 5th gr, Bigger with my 3rd...

Re: Running 3 guides but only using 2 sets of story time boo
I just wanted to chime in briefly to say that we are doing CTC, Bigger, and Little Hearts this year. It has been no trouble at all. CTC is so much more independent than Preparing that it is working really well! All 4 of my kids are usually done before lunch or shortly thereafter.

Re: When you Fall Behind Schedule
Lora Beth,
I would love to see your schedule (routine) too! We are starting CTC, Bigger, and LHFHG on Tuesday. My rough schedule has me teaching from 8:30 until 2:00 (with an hour for lunch.) How do you finish by noon??!! I would love to be able to do that!!
Thanks,
Laura

Re: Science notebook pages
The notebook pages you are probably reading about are in the Yahoo group files. As these are not officially endorsed by HOD, I cannot give the links. However, you can check in the Yahoo files or ask on those boards. HTH!

We really like Math Mammoth. Although I do use her "old" version because she has since aligned with the Common Core Standards.

If you look under the Main Board, another poster has put links under each guides' "sections" when there were examples.
