Re: Need help re placement

I have an 8 year old in preparing and she is doing great. We started out half speed just to get a feel for the program but by week 4 she could easily do full speed. The one thing I would be concerned about if you do beyond and bigger is that the following year you would be doing bigger and preparing...

Re: Placing my 4 year old

I agree. You should meet him where he is. If he is ready, do LHFHG. You can always slow down. Being ahead us a great place to be. It will give you so much flexibility in the coming years.

Re: Primary math 1a with non-reader

Thank you so much ladies. You just gave me the confirmation I needed. I hate to hold him back just because of his hands as well. I don't mind doing math orally at all. I did it that way a lot in the early years with my others anyway. It seemed to help them understand a little better. He knows all of...

Primary math 1a with non-reader

Has anyone used math 1a with a non-reader. My son will be turning 6 in September and is very math oriented. Counts to 100. Knows how to add and subtract but... he is not reading or writing at all. Should I put him in the kinder math until he's writing or just do 1a orally? Just wondering if anyone h...

Re: Buyers remorse

Hi there! I too have been in your shoes. I just wanted to encourage you to keep praying but also wanted to let you know that Mike and Carrie will work with you on a payment plan that fits your needs. If that's an option, I would give them a call. You could start sooner than you think...

Re: Used Curriculum

I agree. Used is almost as much as new. Also Mike and Carrie will set up a payment plan for you if needed. This helped me get CTC this year. It was a great blessing!

Re: I just have to say it, we're loving CTC

Oh we are in week 3 and I can't say enough about how much this curriculum has blessed our family. It is amazing! We had some long days the last couple weeks but today everything seemed to "click". My son started at 9 and was finished by 1:45 and that included a lunch break. I just love, love, love t...

Re: Math Quesrion: I'm worried I have messed up!

I can relate. We were actually unschooling for a while. Now talk about feeling like your kids are behind... Anyway I had to back my very intelligent 11 year old son to Singapore 2a last July. He's now half way through 3a. He's flying through this stuff now and retaining it as well. I think it's so i...

Re: Comma question:)

Great. Thanks Melissa and Christine. I'll fix my copy too. I guess I'd just like to be consistent with what I teach him. He's a pretty concrete thinker and likes consistency too:). I think it's easier to just say no comma before "and". I understand the because commas and I think he will too. Anyway....

Re: Comma question:)

Thanks so much. This does help. I was taught to not use a comma before "and" as well so I was confused.

Comma question:)

Okay. I was a biology major so English and grammar are not my strongest subjects. Help... We're doing dictation from Preparing and in level 3 in number 5 there is no comma between May and June. In number 11 there is a comma between October, and November. Could someone explain why and when we would u...

If not just go to waldorsupplies.com. They have a few different options but if they are all good. Oh ...

Re: what if we decide not to do dithor

I have to say that I too was thinking about skipping DITHOR but after reading this thread I decided to really take the time to read the dithor manual. I am so glad that I did! It is awesome. My thoughts on it completely changed. I think it is now one of the subjects I am most looking forward to. The...
