Re: Book substitutions for LHFHG in place of Thornton Burges
I can see the reasoning with not "skipping out" on something because we don't like it, but I guess I have a couple of thoughts on this relating to our situation. The first is, I don't think our little ones would notice we are skipping anything because they don't know what we are "supposed" to be doi...

Book substitutions for LHFHG in place of Thornton Burgess
Hi! I'm doing LHFHG with our almost 7 year old daughter and our five year old son. We really love it and it's been going very well, except none of us like the Thornton Burgess stories, which seems opposite of everyone else. I see many raving reviews of the stories but so far neither of them liked Re...

What Bible in LHFHG?
I just started LHFHG and it has Bible memory verses. Do we just use our own Bible for that? I'm worried it'll be too hard for my kids. Do most people use a Bible made for kids? What version should we use? Thanks!

Is there Handwriting in Beyond?
Hi! In LHFHG there is Handwriting A. I don't see a workbook for Beyond. Is there not a handwriting workbook for that year? If I have one child doing Handwriting K and one doing Handwriting A in LHFHG then what would I use next year if they both move to Beyond? Thanks!

Re: Primary Mathematics in LHFHG
Oh wow! They are such a good company to work with! This is so good to know! Yes, I plan to use HOD next year as well. Our older kids have done 3 of the guides.☺

Re: Primary Mathematics in LHFHG
Thank you Melissa! That is SO helpful! I was confused because I read something from someone else that said the textbooks weren't used, but the appendix lists the textbooks. You've explained that perfectly. I hadn't considered buying BHFHG for the math portion. Too bad the guide and the math don't co...

Primary Mathematics in LHFHG
Hi! I'm using Little Hearts For His Glory for this coming school year for our Kindergartener and 1st Grader. I have Essential Math for our K student and want to buy Primary Mathematics 1A and 1B for our 1st grade student. My question is, do I need to buy all 5 books, the 1A and 1B workbooks, the 1A ...

Re: New to HOD; Trying to Choose Preparing or CTC?
I didn't get a chance to read completely through all of the replies, so if somebody already suggested this then I'm sorry, but someone suggested to me to check out the weekly samples for each of the programs I'm considering. I think that is very helpful because you can see a whole week of what the c...

Re: New and need help with placement for 4 of our children
Thanks Julie! That was a good idea to print those out. I also printed out the first week of RevtoRev. I really think CTC will work for the younger two and RevtoRev will be nice for the older two. Do you have any advice on placement for English? I am thinking about trying the recommended Rod & Staff....

Re: New and need help with placement for 4 of our children
Thank you so much for your reply! I think CTC and RevtoRev sound great, but I still feel a little worried about my younger children. When I think of the amount and type of work that I did at their ages, it is by far more than what I picture them being able to do. I don't know if I've been far too ea...

New and need help with placement for 4 of our children
Hello! I am new to HOD and am trying to decide on the best placement for 4 of our children for next year. I have read the placement info, but am still unsure. Here is some background on us: We have seven children. Their ages at the beginning of next school year will be 8 months, 2, 10, 11, 13, 15 an...
