Re: UPS delivered today! Have a question about BIGGER

I had my manual chopped and punched for a 3 ring binder (for me). For my daughter, I got a Better Binder from Staples, along with the 8 pack of Better Binder dividers. The divider tabs are: History Notebooking (printed them from the facebook group FILES tab-but they can just do it on regular noteboo...

Re: Would switching math programs set us back?

We have switched a lot in the past two years, and I believe that has set us back. However, in your situation, I don't think you would be "behind" by starting 3rd grade with Singapore 2A. Most kids work a number behind their grade level.

Re: Math Facts

I have a daughter, almost 9 years old, who will begin 3rd grade with bigger on Monday. She still struggles with her math facts, and really dislikes math (to the point of tears most days). She made a lot of progress in 2nd grade with the fact families and flash cards/1 minute drills, but she is still...

lhth with 2 & 4 year olds?

I know this program can be used with both age groups, but simultaneously?! Has anyone done it that can offer helpful tips or suggestions? I ordered the 3/4 package, and I already own the younger Bible. Do the kids work together? We also have Bigger on the way for my rising 3rd grader, so exiting!

Re: Changing curriculum

I am hoping Bigger will cover the material in a different way than the curriculum we are using for 2nd grade. It is the same time period, and uses some of the same books as Beyond. Maybe it will really just cement us history into my child's mind, and she will be able to focus on the 3 Rs a bit more ...

Re: DITHOR and struggling reader

I'm so glad I happened on to this question before ordering Bigger for my daughter's third grade year. She is a struggling reader, and I wasn't sure if I should start with DITHOR. I will definitely start with the Emerging Readers :)

foreign language suggestions

Hi, I am planning to use bigger hearts for my daughter's third grade year (next school year), and I am wondering about foreign language... what is HOD's recommendation for when to begin? Any advice on what language to teach? A similar curriculum I was considering teaches latin and greek roots in ele...

Re: Choosing MTMM?

Thanks for your replies :) From the placement chart, I would say she places in MTMM. She is a struggling speller, and has a hard time staying focused and organized in public school, but I would say she is on grade level with everything. I am mainly concerned with language arts, grammar, spelling, wr...

Choosing MTMM?

I am considering homeschooling my 13 year old daughter who has been in public school. I am looking at MTMM... Would all of the recommendedations work out for a student who hasn't been doing them all along, or should some changes be made?
Any advice or encouragement would be appreciated! :?

Re: New here, and excited to place order...right choices?

That does help, thank you! I don't have any of those titles, but I assume I could get them from the library, or amazon, or choose another title from the list. I was wondering if there was a way to economize a bit as both guides, especially the older grade one is a bit $$.

New here, and excited to place order...right choices?

Hi, I'm Stephanie and I am new here! :D I have a 13 year old going into 8th grade, a 7 year old (turns 8 Sept 6) who is a rising 2nd grader, and two boys who are 3 and 14 months. So...after much deliberation (between My Father's World and Heart of Dakota), I have decided to order some HOD curriculum...
