Thank you Stephanie. By the time we start, I think he would be close to the end of the ERs.

R&S Question
I think, my son is about to start Res. to Ref. This will be his first time using HOD since Bigger. I notice in RtR that the LA starts in the last half of R&S so since he hasn’t done the first half of either book, I’m not sure where to start. Could I have some help, please?

Re: Placement for 12 yo
Often finding the right fit can take a bit of pondering. I honestly think you could do either CTC or RTR. Both have advantages placement-wise to your son's situation. I just wanted to mention CTC as a possibility as you are thinking through things, so you don't wonder later if you get going with RT...

Thank you Carrie, for responding. You make a lot of good points, of course. I will look at CTC, too, and go from there’s.

For reading he would place in Res. to Ref.
For writing he would place in CtC
For grammar some in Preparing, some in. CtC and some in Res. to Ref.

Placement for 12 yo
Hello! I am needing to place my 12 yo son (he will be 12 years and 8 months when we start). He is all boy and doesn’t really “like”school, simply because he rather be outside playing or outside working. He is mostly independent in his school work. He is really behind in writing composition and gramm...

Re: Reading Struggles
I am a reading specialist, and I believe with all that is in me that All About Reading is the best program out there. It is based in Orton Gillingham, so it should be good for a dyslexic child. Thank you for the suggestion. However, it was not a fit for us, at all. We tried it more than once, at di...

Re: Reading Struggles
Thank you ladies for the encouragement and suggestions. I also talked to Julie this evening and that was such a wonderful treat and encouragement. I have to commit this all to prayer and go from there. Whatever I choose, I've gotta stick with it from start to finish! I told Julie I would. Thank you ...
