HS Journal Pages
For those of you using the High School guides - What have you found to be the best writing utensil for the journal pages? My son prefers to use a pencil, but it is very hard to see on those shiny pages. Thanks!

Time Schedules for High School Guides
I have seen posts in the past that give approximate times for the boxes in the high school guides. However, when I search for these posts, I am unable to locate them (I guess I'm using the wrong words for my Search). Any suggestions on how to find these? Specifcally I need the one for World History,...

Re: Sneak Peek #6: New American History Guide
Wow! The Sandals writing curriculum looks fantastic. My son tends to shy away from creative writing, but I think this will provide enough structure that he will see it's doable and even fun. Thanks so much, Carrie, for your well-researched, thoughtful picks.

Re: A Child's Geo. in CTC
Just as an encouragement, my son used A Child's Geography 2 years ago when he did CTC, and we still remember the things he learned from it. I would say definitely persevere. It will pay off!

Question about Geometry: A Guided Inquiry
For those of you using Geometry: A Guided Inquiry , I had a few questions. I was looking at the links to Math without Borders provided in Carrie's descriptions, and I was wondering which parts of the curriculum are scheduled in the World History Guide. It looks like there are quizzes and tests, alge...

Re: MTMM science question
I am using the downloadable version of The Elements but I assume it is the same as the CD and printed book. In my version the Answer Key is immediately after the Student section and before the Teacher's Section. HTH

Re: When switching from Easy Grammar to Rod And Staff...
I haven't done Rod and Staff 4 so maybe someone can chime in on that. I will say, my son made a lot of mistakes with Easy Grammar. There were so many pages in the workbook - I think he just got tired and wanted to get through it. I found the material in EG 5 to be at least as challenging, and maybe ...

Re: When switching from Easy Grammar to Rod And Staff...
Kindra - We switched from using Easy Grammar 5 in fifth grade to R & S 5 for 6th grade and had no problems learning the diagramming. As you said, we didn't do diagramming with Easy Grammar but we learned what subjects and verb phrases were so learning to diagram those was very simple. We are only ha...

Re: When switching from Easy Grammar to Rod And Staff...
My son used Easy Grammar 5 for his 5th grade year. When we switched to HOD for this year, I ordered R & S 5. This has worked out very well. He also made numerous mistakes with Easy Grammar - I think he just got bored with all the workbook assignments and stopped paying attention to the details. I am...
