Re: MTMM - The Elements: Ingred of the Univ bk
I am only using it with one child and wasn't planning on reselling so I just let him write in the book. There are some activities that would be annoying to write out separately such as a crossword puzzle. Also everything on the CD is in the back of the book, so if you aren't interested in printing s...

Re: DD Wants Public School
Agree, agree with everyone! Love that Caesar/Roman quote! I also read an article reminding us of the verse, “if you are not FOR God you are AGAINST Him”, and the public schools are definitely not FOR God. Sending our kids there is like sending them into a den of lions. All of the ways Julie mentione...

Re: Why so much chemistry?
So it sounds like if we chose not to do the chemistry part in MtMM we would be OK. I was just wondering the "method behind the madness" of all the chemistry.

Why so much chemistry?
I see chemistry is scheduled for MtMM and then in the WG guide there is Integrated Physics and Chemistry and then in the upcoming new guide there is chemistry again. I realize that the one in MtMM is introductory and the one in the new guide is advanced but is there really a need for all of that che...

Re: A few other newbie questions about RtR, mostly
The inventor pages can be bought separately. Not sure if you said you have the guide but the guide tells you what to write in the boxes. Mostly it has boxes for the student's written narration of the reading for that week, but also it has the student entering several timeline entries for each invent...

Re: Is anyone doing Latin?
We have done both a bit of Visual Latin and all of Latin for Children A over the last 2 years. We started LFC B this year but it was too much. My son just turned 13 and so we have been doing Getting Started with Latin. It is very cheap and the lessons are short. There are no videos, songs, chants, g...

Re: What should we not miss in RevtoRev and MtMM?
I am assuming you aren't concerned about fitting any of the actual history in, thinking she will get that in the high school guides, so I will just mention some non-history favorites. We are only on week 23 of Rev to Rev but so far I recommend reading Amos Fortune and Seaman. Also try and find somet...

HOD guides and CLEP question
In the last 4 guides (including the 2 that aren’t written yet) will there be any recommendations on which included courses/subjects would be “CLEP worthy” to earn college credits in high school? For example, after a student completes BJU Fundamentals of English in the WG guide, would that prepare th...

Re: REV to REV Written Narrations...please help!
Yes, I agree with Motherjoy. The written narration does not have to be perfect before going into the notebook. You will start seeing that your child is getting the idea of just writing out something similar to an oral narration. You can use it to guide the child through his/her grammar or spelling e...

Re: REV to REV Written Narrations...please help!
Few suggestions: First-my son uses erasable pens so editing is no problem. Frixion seems to be a good kind. Second-he writes his narration on notebook paper and then when it is approved by me he will glue the paper onto the box in the student pages. Sometimes it is half a sheet and will fit but if i...

Re: Question on setting up RtoR
To save all that paper and ink printing out the teacher's maps, could you have them do their map in front of the computer with the teacher map on the screen for them to reference? Just a thought.
