Re: RTR question
Thanks Ladies! I hadn't even thought about interlibrary loan, we have that too. It's good to know we don't have to have the books if we can't find them though.

RTR question
I'm getting ready to purchase RTR for dd11. Problem is, we're in the middle of a move, and it's not really in the budget to add on the Basic Package of history read-alouds. Most of these books are not available in our small town library, so we'll most likely have to do without. How much is not havin...

English & Writing for 6th grade RTR
We are currently using R&S English 4 and Write With the Best vol. 1 for our fifth grade dd11. We will only be in lesson 50 of R&S and Unit 3 of WWTB when we finish up this school year. I'm wondering how we should go about getting "on schedule" for RTR that we will be beginning in the fall for 6th gr...

Questions about beginning RTR
I've asked a similar question about a younger guide, but not sure how this works with the older guides. I am so eager purchase and start RTR with dd11 and not happy with what we're currently using for history/science, that I just have to ask. Would it be a bad idea to begin RTR in the next couple we...

Re: What grade level is Beyond considered?
I'm using it with a 6yo Kindergartener and a 7yo 2nd grader and will continue using it until around Christmas time this year for the same two kiddos who will then be 1st/3rd graders. I think it was actually written as a 1st/2nd grade program.

2nd grade questions
Okay, a couple of questions here concerning ds7. We are currently doing Beyond with him and his younger brother and it is going great. However, we are not doing any formal grammar with him (the 2nd grade ds) besides what is in the Beyond guide, and I'm wondering if I need to be. We began the year wi...

Has anyone done this?
We just began Beyond (we're loving it!) this month, so we're only on Unit 3. We'll be taking the summer off, so we'll have an 8-10 week break. Should we just pick up where we left off with Beyond next school year? It's where my boys fit best now and will most likely be a good fit next fall as well, ...

Re: Science question...would this work?
Thanks ladies, and thanks Julie for the pics! I wasn't sure how intertwined the science and history were, so your responses are very helpful.

Science question...would this work?
I know we have some time before we have to decide, but I'm never content until I've weighed all my options! If we were to place our dd11 into CTC next fall, would it be okay not to use the science scheduled and do Apologia astronomy (along with the Apologia notebook) instead? Or is there a co...

Possibly switching to HOD...have some questions
We are in our second year of homeschooling around here and things are going well with the exception of one thing. We are using MFW ECC and really enjoy it. My dd (will be 11yo this month) is doing great with it, but it is for the most part over the heads of ds7 and ds6. Because of this I'm thinking ...
