Re: Math Relief Anyone??
Ann, Thank you so much for replying! I love this board and really respect the ladies' opinions. From all the reviews I could find, the only cons were the ones that you listed...all of which I can live with as long as the teaching and content is good. So far, that is what I'm hearing. I went ahead an...

Math Relief Anyone??
Has anyone ever heard of Math Relief? It is an Algebra I and II and Geometry DVD program. It looks wonderful and cannot find any negative reviews on it, only a lot of positive. A smaller company that doesn't advertise, so not very well known. Thanks for sharing any experience you may have. Elizabeth

REV to REV Written Narrations...please help!
Can someone please tell me how you do written narrations at this level? My daughter tends to be lazy about this if I don't stay right on top of her. :( I have read the wonderful narration tips in the appendix. I'm wondering if they should do a rough draft on notebook paper first or write directly in...

We have been using Interactive Videotext Algebra with my 8th grader and so far really like it. It is very independent although you need to check their work and record etc. but very thorough program.

Re: CTC Extensions
I actually wrote in pencil at the top corner of the page what the extension reading was for the day. I just wrote them all in at the beginning of the year. My DD needed this as she'll tend to skip it if it isn't right in front of her. I thought of copying it, but I didn't want her to lose the paper....

M2MM for 9th grade- please direct
I have been searching the forum for posts regarding the use of M2MM with a 9th grader to make it high school credit worthy. I know Carrie has addressed this somewhere but I can't seem to find it. Also, my daughter is finishing up Ress to Reform right now and will do Rev to Rev in 8th grade unless I ...

Re: College prep
I have been looking into Collegeprep as well. Not so that my daughter can start college early but so that she doesn't waste time. She wants to pursue an advanced degree in Veterinary Medicine. It just makes sense for her to get dual credit so she doesn't have to repeat these courses in her first 2 y...

please help? Typo in Ress to Reform
In unit 14 Day 4 in the Reading about History box it says to read Famous Men of the Middle Ages p 149-151....but Gutenberg is on pages 137-138...I'm assuming that is what the student is to read for today? The Key idea in the box is about Gutenberg. Thanks for any input. Couldn't find a list of corre...

Re: Math Advice for 3rd Grader
Have you ever heard of Right Start Math? It's very hands on and uses math games as a means of learning facts. It truly focuses on understanding math not just memorizing facts. It does require teacher time to teach it though. For this reason (had a new baby), I left it and tried teaching textbooks fo...

Re: Help...CTC history project Unit 7 Ephod Gemstones
Thanks you ladies, We will try again...this recipe didn't have flour. So I will try adding more cornstarch and toothpaste this time...although my DD already used a couple small tubes of toothpaste. :) or thought I would try using another recipe for air dry clay in the guide. Any suggestions which on...

Re: Great year with RTR
not sure if you made a decision yet but thought I would share my experience if it will help you. My DD did CTC in 5th grade at age 10 and it is plenty rigorous for a 6th grader especially if you use the extensions. CTC is a wonderful year that I wouldn't want to skip. My second DD is in CTC this yea...
