You are so talented! I love these pictures! Could you help this non-artsy mom with unit 10's art project? Got any pics to post on that? Keep them uploading...

Re: Taking Forever
We use Horizons Math. We have used it from the beginning. I have them do one lesson a day. We also do Easy Grammar. Only one lesson per day. Will get the times tomorrow afternoon. Thanks again for the link about approximate times!

Re: Taking Forever
Thank you SSSOOO much, Carrie! I will take the time to "time" our lessons and see where the struggles are. We are in unit 6 of CTC for the 5th & 7th grader. Unit 6 of BLHFHG for 1st grader. Your response is so helpful. Just knowing that there is someone who can help me figure this out. One thing for...

Re: Taking Forever
I've had lots of people look at my post and no suggestions. I'm having a difficult time here. So, let me ask this... Do any of you do just one side of the page instead of both sides each day? If so, how does that work out? It seems like a lot to get done. HELP!

Taking Forever
Hi! I have used HOD for over a year now and I LOVE it! This year, my 5th & 7th grader are using CTC and my 1st grader is doing BLHFHG. I love the curriculum and what they are learning, but I can't get it all done before 4pm. I even have freezer meals made ahead so I'm not spending tons of time on lu...

PHFHG Week 27
PHFHG Unit 27 history project was so fun! The kids enjoyed watching their stained glass windows become transparent with the baby oil! Behind my son you will also see their Lego versions of coral polyps from this unit's science as well. Loving Heart of Dakota! http://i1054.photobucket.com/albums/s486...

Re: Week 1 PHFHG Questions
WOW! What great ideas! Thanks everyone! I just need a little more clarifications on something though... Do the kids still read from their readers each day of the 15 days for that genre even if it doesn't say to complete a DITHOR lesson? I guess I'm not clear on if the the reading is part of that les...

Week 1 PHFHG Questions
Hi! We are completing week one of PHFHG! We are loving it so far! I do have a few questions though and thought someone out there could help me out. :) 1) Even if the guide doesn't say "Help your child complete one lesson from DITHOR" should we still do the reading for that day and if there is a work...

Rebecca,
Thanks for sharing your tips! I love the idea of the independent history writings facing the picture that was drawn! How clever!

Science Notebooking
I'm about to start PHFHG and I'm so excited! I'm just wondering, in regards to science, if any of you have found an unlined sketchbook better than the 3-ring binder or vice versa. It seems that there will still be notebook paper needing to bound somewhere if I do use the sketchbook. Any ideas? Thank...

Re: New to HOD
Tina & Jessica, I'm sorry that I didn't make that clear. Yes to just using PHFHG with the older two in 4th & 6th. I wouldn't try and put my Kindergartener in there too. That would be too much! :D I actually will use something I already have for this Kindergarten year and then jump in with HOD next ...

Re: New to HOD
Ok, folks... I just read the introduction pdf and now I feel silly!!! Almost all of my questions have been answered by that. The only thing I would like is input on placement. I think that PHFHG is right for us, but would love some experienced HOD users for any advice. Thanks! Aubrey

New to HOD
Hi Everyone! I'm new to HOD although I have been admiring it and recommending it to new homeschool families for a few years. I have used another literature/history based curriculum for 5 years and am ready for a change. I really am looking forward to using HOD as it seems to cover a wide range of s...
