Has anyone used Cheerful Cursive with a left handed student?
I am looking at going with HWT as I know it is designed to be easy for a left handed student. I have no experience with CC and have not seen it IRL so I do not know if is ok to use with leftie.

Re: Super heroes - ok or bad for kids?
We do not buy any action figures etc. for boys. We have chosen to find appropriate heroes for our boys rather than the junk and truly evil stuff that is out there nowdays. We have a CD by a Christian children's musician here in Australia called Super Saviour. We had a super hero dress up day at Chur...

Re: I have a problem with the use of this word in a HOD book
We live in Australia. If I saw that word I would think of a young cheeky child. That being said it is a few years since we read Reddy Fox. I would possibly change the word when I read it. With regard to classic literature, I think you have to keep in mind that the values, ideas and language will be ...

Re: Family Time Bible- are the pictures too scary?
Yes I think they are scary and very realistic. The most realistic of all the many children's Bibles I have seen (I worked in a Christian bookstore so I have seen many). These pictures were fine for my DS. They will not be fine for my DD who may be in LHFHG next year. That said though I like the text...

Attitude or readiness in a 5 year old?
I have a 5 year old DD. (plus 8yr DS, 2yr DS and 9month DS) My daughter is in the year before 1st grade. Next year she will be registered with our Education Department. My DD has always listened to my DS's books for school (including chapter books). Her school experience so far has included Before F...

Re: But why???
Hi,
we are also coming back from FIAR. Glad to hear I am not the only one (as in I really and truly needed to hear that right now!) HOD helps me to be a better teacher to my kids and I love that it is all planned out for me.
Enjoy you year ahead!

Re: Kinda OT: I need help getting baby to sleep to do school!!!!
The No Cry Sleep Solution by Elizabeth Pantley is a great option if you want to start working with your baby toward a more scheduled day. It breaks my heart to hear about babies left to cry it out. Personally I struggle to see Jesus in the room letting that little one cry. We have a 9 month old in t...

Bigger - adapting for a child who does not like to write.
Hi, I have used LHFHG and parts of Beyond with my DS . This year I started him in Bigger but he was NOT happy with the amount of writing. I ended up stopping the program after 2 weeks and switching to some unit studies and another program. I really like HOD and I would like to attempt Bigger next ye...
