Re: Sneak Peeks 2015: New American History Guide
So exciting to see what is coming up! I can't wait to see what awesome literature you choose! I was just wondering today if you were going to have some of the classics like Moby Dick, A Tale of Two Cities, Oliver Twist, Pride and Prejudice, any of the Sherlock Holmes, Edgar Alan Poe, etc?????

Re: Question regarding ordering kindergarten
Will the updated lesson plans for Essential Math be posted under the PDF replacements link on this site for those who have an older version of the teacher's manual?

Re: Spelling Help
My son is actually an excellent reader and I do not believe he is dyslexic. So, the reading issue is actually not an issue LOL. I believe that he needs more sensory input while spelling - things to engage him while learning. He does not do well with lots of repetition or things he considers "boring"...

Spelling Help
Hi Carrie! I am getting ready to start the second half of Bigger with my 8 1/2 yr old son for his "3rd grade" year. He is still struggling with spelling and therefore does not write sentences yet. This is something I really want to work on before starting Preparing. I have not used the spelling list...

Re: Sneak Peek #6: New Guide Missions to Modern Marvels...
The target age range for Missions to Modern Marvels is ages 12-14 with extensions in the area of history for ages 15-16. So, the target age range for Missions to Modern Marvels is for 7th and 8th graders, with extensions in the area of history for 9th and 10th graders. :D Some other areas scheduled...

Re: Sneak Peek at New Guide: Missions to Modern Marvels
Hi Carrie, Just wondering if you considered continuing with AnswersinGenesis' "God's Design for Science" series??? I know they have an inventions book You used a few of the books here and there, but not any particular science curriculum with any consistency (one small square, God's Design for Scienc...

Re: Give your opinion: Science in future guides
Right now, we have our plan in place to write guides through grade 8. We will continue to be in prayer over what the Lord wishes for us to do after that. :D Our plan is to eventually make at least a listing available of what we've used for our own kiddos for each high school year (to cover all need...

Re: Sneak Peek #5: New Guide Missions to Modern Marvels
Carrie,
I have spent close to a year researching and evaluating curriculum. I cannot tell you how pleased I am with HOD. Everything is so thorough and covers EVERYTHING I want my child to learn and appreciate. Thank you so much!!

Re: HOD Users in CO
Bummer! All my family (parents, sisters, grandma, cousins...) live in the Colorado Springs area, but we're in Kansas right now. We do get to the Springs area once or twice a year, maybe we could meet up sometime. One of my sisters does homeschool, but does not use HOD (I tried my best on that front...

HOD Users in CO
Hi gals!
Are there any HOD users in Colorado Springs? I have lived here for 1 year and still looking to meet some friends. I'd love to meet some moms who are using HOD so we can pray together, brainstorm together, do field trips, etc.

My son is using LHFHG (age 6) and I am looking ahead to next year. Right now, we are using The World God Made for K. For next year, the recommended resource for Science is God's Wonderful Works. From the catalog, they seem to be VERY similar. And if so, what else would you suggest? My son needs lots...

Newbie Help - Is HOD only through 6th Grade?
Hi all,
Please forgive my ignorance in advance as I am new to the whole homeschooling deal When looking over the different curricula, it would appear that we would finish all of HOD's currently offered choices by grade 6 if we do them in succession (with LHFHG for K). Am I missing something?
