Re: Please talk to me about this
I missed your reply earlier Carrie and just noticed it today. Perhaps I am not always the sharpest tool in the shed. I have some more questions..lots more. When I really looked at where my daughter was in the placement guide, she was all over skill wise. She would fit more close...

Re: Please talk to me about this
Soo, should I beef up CTC for a lite 9th grade year and if I do that how should I beef it up? OR should I just beef it up lightly for for an 8th grade year and not try to count credits? When I asked my daughter about it she wanted a lite 9th grade year. I looked up what someone else did to beef it u...

Please talk to me about this
I have no one to ask except online boards. I have posted about this before, but maybe I wasn't clear. My daughter 13, soon to be 14 in June is struggling in homeschool. We are just finishing up Saxon 7/6 and will move on to Saxon 8/7 next. We are doing Apologia General science in which she is contin...

Tips for written narrations?
We will be starting CTC in the fall, but until then I would like to get started getting my children used to writing some written narrations. I am looking for a few tips or even a possible resource to help us get started. Thank you.

Re: High school using CTC
Are you guys counting any credits for this? Is any one doing anything special for writing? My mind has been so set on MFW Ancients for quite a while now, but when I figure out the cost both that and CTC, I come up with $1380, a huge chunk for us. If I beef up CTC that will make it cheaper but I feel...

Yes, please list what you are doing to make it ninth grade. I live in Michigan and our homeschool laws are very accomodating.

My 8th grader...
First off, yes I am an early riser and using my computer first thing wakes me up. Then I read my bible. If I switch it around I don't remember as much of what I read, because I am still sleepy. Now on to important stuff. Despite my signature, my dd is still 13 and won't be 14 until early June...

One thing
One thing, well actually more then one thing that I have really enjoyed so far in learning about HOD is Carrie's explanation for why she chooses what she chooses. This really helps me understand the whole program even more. I just finished reading up on why they don't use Apologia in the middle scho...

High school using CTC
Hello,
I have checked the sticky up at the top for things to add when trying to extend a level for high school, but has anyone ever really done that? Are there any books anyone would recommend to help me learn how to keep track of everything if we went that route?

Re: Breaks
We usually have a short snack break in the morning and then I like to go until I am done with them and have lunch after that. So we are usually done between 12-1. They may have some work to finish up in the afternoon, usually my 8th grader but otherwise we are done then.

Re: New and confession
I was worried that the cost would be too much but my hubby said that we shouldn't cheapin out on their education and that this looked like a very good program. :D It will have to wait until Sept. though as we need to finish 1850 -Modern Times. It will be painful to wait and finish up. I wish ...

New and confession
I will admit that I am hestaint about posting. We are currently doing MFW 1850 to Modern Times, :? but when we are finished we will do CTC. My daughter will be doing MFW Ancients for ninth grade. I really wanted to stay with MFW, but I felt my boys, twins age 10, needed more interaction with the mat...
