Thank you Lynn,
Your insight is very helpful. I agree that if the jump is significant from Preparing to CTC we should start there. I am so pleased with both boys' progress and I don't want to frustrate them or me!
Thanks for responding!

Need help deciding between CTC or RTR
Hello ladies, I love love love HOD. I have purchased SO many other programs over the years. I have been homeschooling for 13 years and am about to graduate our first daughter! Woo-hoo!! Unfortunately I didn't hear about HOD until a couple of years ago. But I have lots of other history programs on my...

Re: Please tell me it's ok to go 1/2 pace with Preparing
Thanks ladies! I appreciate everyone giving me the ok! Carrie, I will definitely make working up to full speed the goal. I was looking at the catalog last night and now I can't wait to start Creation to Christ! I'm such a curriculum junkie! I guess there are worse things  Thanks, Elise in NC

Please tell me it's ok to go 1/2 pace with Preparing
Hello ladies, This is our first year with HOD and I love it. This is my 12th year homeschooling and I finally feel like we have a history program that combines so many of my favorite elements of other programs. I tried so many but none really fit. HOD combines great reading, projects, and academic s...

Re: Preparing Praise and ?
Thank you both for the response. My copy has a copyright date of 2000 and was published by Sonlight. I think I am going to have to buy the edition used in Preparing. My book just doesn't seem to have the maps. The chapters are the same (just on different pages) but there aren't maps in the chapters....

Preparing Praise and ?
Hello all, We have just started using Preparing this week. I have been homeschooling for 11 years but this is our first time using HOD. I am really really enjoying it so far. I have used so many different literature based curriculums but have never felt like they had everything I was looking for. So...

Re: simply not enough time...
I really relate to your post! I also am homeschooling 4 children. They are 15, 13, 11, and 9. My youngest two need a lot of help from me. My 11 year old has cerebral palsy and epilepsy. He is making lots of progress but still needs me to help him. My 9 year old is around the same level as my 11 year...

Re: Just ordered my first HOD!
I didn't receive a tracking number either. Don't know if that means it hasn't shipped yet or not.
BTW, I LOVE box day!!! I can't wait to get it all and sit down and look through everything. My kids love when all the books come!

Just ordered my first HOD!
I am very excited about my very first purchase with HOD. We will be using Preparing with my two youngest children, they will be 9 and 12. The books look so wonderful but the instructor guide looks amazing! How long does it typically take to receive the order? Will it be all in one shipment or in mul...

Re: Is DIHOR necessary?
Ok, that makes more sense. I was refering to the book packs that coordinate with DITHR. Will those "readers" be scheduled in the DITHR guide? For example, will it have the book The Sign of the Beaver listed with which pages to read that day? Are there sample pages of DITHR on the website? I think I ...

Re: Is DIHOR necessary?
Thank you so much for the great info. I like the idea of getting used to HOD for a while and then adding DITHOR once I am used to how it will all work. I am adding a lot of new things to our schedule for next year I don't want to become overwhelmed. I've done that too many times to myself and it nev...

Re: Is DIHOR necessary?
Thank you so much for the info. I have read a lot of really good reviews about DIHOR but I was just wondering if it was essential or can it be something we use later on when I have more time. Time is really precious right now in our homeschool and I'm looking for ways to cut a little here and there ...
