If you are combining 2 children into 1 guide...
raise your hand! How is it going? Any thoughts, regrets, or things you'd do differently? I currently have my 8 year old and 6 year old combined in Beyond. So far, so good. My 8 year old does 3rd grade level math, grammar, spelling etc. but follows the history, storytime, Bible etc. with her sister. ...

Scheduling Rod and Staff 3
I have my 3rd grader combined in Beyond with my 1st grader. She is in R&S 3 this year after finishing R&S 2 last year. I can't remember where I read the recommendations for how much to cover each day for this level. Isn't it suggested to slow down at this point, or is that later?

Re: Making my own version of Beyond extensions?
Thank you Angie. That did help. I think I've gotten most of the areas covered except for some additional history reading. I would love some specific titles, and to make sure that they weren't titles that would be used later in Bigger's extensions.

Making my own version of Beyond extensions?
I've combined my 3rd grader and 1st grader in Beyond. Everything is going great!! We are loving HOD! I have my 3rd grader doing LA and math on her level, and now I'm trying to put together my own small "extension" package for her. I'm looking for additional reading that will correspond with what we ...

Re: Any helpful hints for Beyond??
Maybe this is weird, but hsing with my babies was much easier than hsing with my toddlers! Personally, we began school pretty quickly after baby being born. Once they hit 18 mos...I took a lot of time off. There is plenty of holding and googling over lil babes while schooling. ;-) Just my personal ...

Re: Doing Bigger while adding Dictation from Preparing. . .Help!
That is exactly my plan for the year after next when I will have a 2nd and 4th grader. We will be combining 1st and 3rd in Beyond in the fall of this year.

Re: Extension package for Beyond?
I plan to do Beyond with my 8 year old and soon to be 6 year old (3rd and 1st graders) next year. I will have the 1st grader just do everything as laid out in the guide. Then the 3rd grader will do R&S 3, Singapore math 2B/3A (depending on how she places) and possibly DITHOR. I also planned to have ...

Re: Something to ponder...
So convicted! since we just had a really rough morning. My responses to discipline issues were far from pleasant. It's funny too because I was angry at my 3 year old for disrupting school, but what good is school if mommy is a grouch?! It reminds me of the verse in Proverbs that says it is better to...

Singapore placement
8 year old dd is finishing up Abeka math 2 right now. We plan to switch over to Singapore when we start HOD this summer. I looked at the placement tests and am still trying to figure out what level she would be in. If we finish up the Abeka 2, it looks like she will cover a lot of what was in the 2A...

New and solidifying my plan.
I am so excited to have finally settled on HOD for next year. I have loved it from afar for a long time, and finally feel I have a handle on how to make it work for us. I think I have my plan worked out, but wanted to run it by someone else to be sure I am not missing anything. My oldest is 8 and is...
