Re: LHTH with only 4 free days a week?
That is a thought..one box a day would be simple to do if I decide I want to keep our letters in the same week. Thanks - I like that too Robbi! Although - I may just do it one day at a time and not worry about where the letters fall, like you and netpea said - that may actually be good for my pre-sc...

Re: Homeschooling when english is not primary language?
I wish I could give you a solid answer - I don't have experience. I do live in a community that has a large portion (something like 30% or so) of our students that have Spanish speaking parents - but the children speak fluently in both languages. (My older children were all in public school - and I ...

Re: Bedtime Stories
I feel the same way about wanting to call it a day, but I have to say, now that 4 of my kiddos are grown - those are precious memories of precious times sitting together reading in their room with them all laying around the bed listening to the story (my clown making jokes along the way, my inquisit...

Re: LHTH with only 4 free days a week?
Thanks netpea...I did notice it has only 33 weeks...I was actually just more concerned about carrying the topic the letter & number out over more than a week. I appreciate the advice - it's good to hear from someone who has done it before. Thank you

LHTH with only 4 free days a week?
I'm wondering if anyone else has 'tweaked' LHTH to fit in a 4 day week. I am ready to go with it for the 4 pre-schoolers I keep and I also homeschool my older two children (7 & 11), so I have to be efficient with my time. We go to co-op on Thursdays so I likely won't have time for pre-school on that...

Re: Poor attitude during school work
Hi Christy, I can't offer a ton of advice, but I have a very sweet natured, quiet, contemplative, obedient little boy who is 11. He is a bit more sensitive than any of his other 5 siblings, and so much more sweet and thoughtful (not that they are not great kids, in my biased opinion - :) but his nat...

Just so you know it isn't just Ken Hamm that teaches this. Many Creation based scientist teach it. You can look at the Institute for Creation Research which also has articles on it. I'm an undecided old earth / young earth gal!! I also like ICR...and they send daily emails and even quarterly devoti...

Re: LHTH questions...could use a bit of help please!
If you are holding on to the curriculum after you use it for these two is it possible to use the cost of the curriculum as a business expense tax deduction for your day care rather that having the parents pay for what you'll keep possesion of? Maybe I'm missing something from what you've shared and...

Re: LHTH questions...could use a bit of help please!
To be honest I just use our regular Bible in all the guides, so I really don't know what to say other than you have a 2 and 3 yo, so if I were to get one or the other I'd go with the younger one. Thanks...that may be the case since my 3 year old's mom hasn't given me an answer in the past few month...

Hi! I believe that the book has everything in it you need as far as the pages to copy there is nothing else to purchase -- I haven't actually used the book or purchased it. --- I am planning on using it with my dd2 who will be 3 in the fall shortly after we would begin and I plan to use it for a tw...

I'm not sure what you have looked at - but I found these: http://www.thefeltsource.com/BibleStories.html http://www.trainupchildren.com/ http://www.schoolhousesource.com/betty_lukens.htm Lastly, this is a good resource I found to make your own! It doesn't look terribly hard at all - I think I'm goin...

LHTH questions...could use a bit of help please!
Hello, I am home schooling my 7 & 11 year old with MFW and I babysit a 2 & 3 year old as well. The 2 year old's grandmother has been asking if I would be willing to do 'pre-school' with him. I talked to the 3 year old's mom and she is going to give me an answer soon, but the 2 year old's grandmother...

Re: Struggling with choice: MFW CTG or HOD CTC
Lisa...that just happened to me in MFW ECC...he read something and pointed out to me that it looked like it pointed to evolution rather than having been made by a creator...I told him "let's look in the guide to see if they told me about that"...and they had - I had just missed flipping the page to ...

Re: Struggling with choice: MFW CTG or HOD CTC
Polly - big help to me....your family sounds a lot like mine. DD - 6 is doing MFW 1 and will be joining in with DS-10 - who I have decided will be doing HOD CTC. I also have an 18 yr old still at home (also have 3 older aged 20, 21 & 24). Thanks for the pointers...I may add Victor as well as it look...

Re: New and confession
Julie - Thank you so much - you've really helped me with this. I think my biggest concern is getting it all in and not having tons of stuff to flip back through. You've been a huge help for me with this and I really needed to hear your experiences. Blessings, ash
