I can't make a decision!
I am having such a hard time deciding what to do with my 4 year old. He turned 4 in April and my older son turned 6 in May. My oldest is doing LHFHG, Math Mammoth 1, the Emerging Readers and a few other things he finds interesting. It is so easy with him because he is working at the level he should ...

Re: Struggling with Singapore.
Thanks so much for all of the responses. It really helps just knowing that others have been there. We school all year but we like to take a little time off once the pools open and it starts getting nice out here and I think we are all due for a break. Frustration levels are getting pretty high all a...

Re: Struggling with Singapore.
We are using the textbook and workbook 1A and the hands on activities in Beyond. It's really hard for me to explain because I'm not quite sure what it is he isn't understanding. He has issues with the problems that give the answer and 1 number and then you have to figure out what to add to it. Like ...

Struggling with Singapore.
We are doing LHFHG with the 1st grade options and we school year round. My son loves school and has really enjoyed HOD so much except for the math. He begs me not to make him do it. We are starting subtraction and he likes that much better but it seemed like he didn't really get the addition. Is it ...

I need help!!
Ok so I need help with my 4 year old. He cannot remember his letters at all. We are on unit 4 and the only letter he knows is 'A' no matter how many times we go over the others he can't get it. He can do math problems in his head, loves to do handwriting pages and memorizes every Bible verse that hi...

Re: Need Help With K Phonics Program
I just went through this problem. We started phonics with MFW K and got bored very quickly. We then started 100 ex lessons and I didn't like it and more importantly my sons really didn't like it. We just started The Reading Lesson last week and we all love it! My 6 year old has flown through the fir...

Re: Homeschool Organization for HOD This Year - Photos
We bought the beanbag chair from Ultimatesack.com. If you are a friend on Facebook there is a code for 5% off. We got this one for 204.00 including shipping. It came with a cover but I really didn't like it so I'm exchanging it for one that costs $20 more. This wasmuch cheaper thanthe other brands a...

Re: Reading level question
We have switched to The Reading Lesson and my almost 6 year old is flying through it. He loves it. My 4 year old is going very slowly but he really likes it also. He loves the pictures and he likes the pages where he gets to match the letters to the animals. I bought the Beyond economy pack when I b...

Re: Homeschool Organization for HOD This Year - Photos
102_0163.JPG This is our reading area. We keep all of the Bibles and books that I read to the boys on the bookshelf. Their picture books are on another bookshelf across the room. We bought the bean bag with our tax return and we love it. We use it everynight and it is sooooo comfortable. 102_0161.J...

Reading level question
I have so many questions and I'm so thankful that all you wonderful ladies are here to help me with them. My almost 6 year old just finished MFW K and we started on LHFHG right away because we are doing year round school. He knows the short vowel sounds and the consonants. We started using teach you...

I am in love with HOD and I've only done Unit 1!
I love HOD! We have been doing Unit 1 of LHTH and LHFHG. My boys have memorized 2 bible verses, they are singing songs to Jesus, they beg to read their Bibles and they are loving Jesus more and more each day. I have tried and tried to get them to listen to music and enjoy it but they have just never...

Box Day!!! Woohoo!!
I am so excited I got it a whole day early! My boys were so excited to look through it with me. My 9 month old daughter isn't a big fan of it though. She won't let me put her down long enough to really look at it like I want to. Oh well, pretty soon they'll all 3 be in bed and I'll probably be up al...

I placed my order!
I finally ordered and I can't wait for it all to get here. I'm so glad that I found HOD. I feel like God really led me to this curriculum and I'm just so ready to pour over all of the books. I'm so excited!

Science question
I am wondering how everyone likes Our Father's World science for 1st grade. I recently bought the Answers in Genesis science curriculum for 1st-8th grade but I'm wondering if I should return it and use the science that LHFHG comes with? I really love AIG and know that the science curriculum is great...

Re: Where do I start?
Thank you all so much. I really appreciate all the responses and the advice. I think that we will continue what we are doing this year and then start my 4 year old on LHTH and my 6 year old on LHFHG. I'm so excited to start that I just want to do everything right now!
