Hi,
Wow, its been a year since I last posted? Sorry, I did not see your response! Yes, I'm from Brazil!! I have tried Duolingo but they lost interest quickly. We are now doing Rosetta Stone and they are enjoying it? What are your kids ages? Mine are now 10,8,5 and 3.

Re: To combine or not combine?
Hi Julie, You are so inspiring! Thank you for your words of encouragement! I just now saw your reply. We indeed have lovely ladies in this forum. I'm very excited to start the new school year in August and I'm happy with my choices. I think will make homeschooling doable for us. Plus, I was able to ...

Re: To combine or not combine?
Thank you ladies for the reassurance. I think that's what we are going to do. Combine both 8 and 10 year old in preparing. With me being a working mom , if I try to do different guides for everyone it's just not feasible. Plus my daughter will be starting K next year, so she will take a good amount ...

Re: To combine or not combine?
Thank you ladies for your input. LovinJesus, you understood me right. They will be 8 and 10 by the start of next year and that's what I am brainstorming about. The other 2 guides are great but my son did Bigger over two years. If I have to do it again it will be 3 years of Bigger for him. I don't th...

To combine or not combine?
Hi Ladies, I'm here again asking for your wisdom! I'm trying to decide what to do for the coming year. I have 2 boys ages 7 and 9 who are on grades 2nd and 4th respectively. Andrew finished LHFHG and Marcus finished Bigger last year. This year we are doing a combination of things but not following a...

Re: Foreign Language
Hi Mibellesmom,
I have the same situation going on at my house. I speak Portuguese but my kids prefer English. Where are you from? Brazil, Portugal? I'll be following the thread for suggestions

Re: Need Help!
Julie, That's a wonderful idea! She sure can be a lot of help. I'm struggling with her mom who does not want her to be home schooled :( I really think she would do much better at home without the crazy requirements of public school. Please pray for us to choose the best option for her, and for her p...

Re: Need Help!
Wow! Danaele, Thank you so much for the detailed response! I will be referring to it often. My niece is planning on staying with us and we are getting her legal custody, so she plans on attending college here as well. I like your idea of extending high school a little bit so she can solidify her Eng...

Need Help!
Hello ladies, I need some help. I have a niece (16 year old) who came to live with us from Brazil. She is learning English, but still has quite a way to go. She went to public school here for the last 2 months and I had to help her a lot with her schooling due to limited English. She is on 10th grad...

Transition from half-speed to full speed.
Hi ladies, I am doing Bigger and LHFHG at half speed with my sons 7 and 5 yo. I'm trying to do math and language arts full speed, since they are ready for it. My plan is to spread both plans over 2 years so they can mature a little bit and be on the middle range of the guides. My concern is, how do ...

Re: Baby is due in November, seeking schedule suggestions
Hi, I'm also due in November :D I agree with the previous posts. I find it easier to do school with smaller babies than when they start to become mobile. We're in kind of the same situation. I have a 5 and 7 yo boys and a daughter who is 2. Doing school right now is challenging :D My kids also take ...

Supplies for Bigger
Hi Ladies, I'm going to start Bigger with my son this coming fall and I'm just wondering if anybody has a list of the supplies needed for the year. Also, how do you organize all the art projects and activities done. I'm not the greatest when it comes to organization :D So if you have done Bigger bef...
