Re: middle guides for HS

I’d like to add to my original post and share more about each subject/box that my son is completing and how it is going. Also, I thought it would be helpful to know how he did in Preparing. Preparing: By the end of the guide, he was completing somet of the independent boxes on his own. His comprehen...

middle guides for HS

I was hoping to get some advice on using the middle guides for high school. My 13 year old son (6th grade) has completed all the guides through Preparing. He has learning delays, so we worked through the younger guides slow and at his pace. Comprehension and fine motor activities seem to be where he...

Re: Help with Foerster's Algebra 1

Carrie, Thank you for your quick reply. Your words are such an encouragement and I will share them with my son. I may have another question for you, but I'd like to try a few lessons using your suggestions first before asking it. I would also like to share that we had a great first week with World G...

Help with Foerster's Algebra 1

We are struggling with the story problem style exercises in Foerster's Algebra 1. Chapter 7 lesson 10 was very difficult for us to get through and I almost switched curriculum. I have followed the guide when making assignments, but chapter 8 has these problems in most lessons. Should he complete all...

Re: RevtoRev Extension package

I had not thought about using the physical science for high school credit. I feel a little lost when thinking about high school. Did your dd use the science in RevtoRev as is for the high school credit? I will be ordering the advanced curriculum kit for my son.

RevtoRev Extension package

My son will be in 8th grade this fall. I am getting really excited about placing my order for RevtoRev, but keep debating whether to get the extension pack. I do plan to purchase The American Testimony dvd set either way. My concern is that the books might be too mature for him. My son is a very goo...

R & S English 2

My son will start Beyond this fall, but will be using R & S English 2. He just finished the grammar activities and spelling list 1 from Beyond. Should I purchase Bigger Hearts for the English 2 lesson plans? I'd like to wait, if it isn't necessary, because I have a large order to place for my older ...

Re: Math help

He used MUS for 1st through 4th grade. Singapore for a few months in 5th grade, but I had a hard time helping him with the story problems so he went to Teaching Textbooks for the rest of 5th and 6th grade. He actually started Teaching Textbooks Pre- Algebra at the end of 6th grade. He attended a par...

Math help

My son will be in the 8th grade this fall. I'm not sure what math curriculum to choose for him. I'd like him to do Forester's Alg. 1 for 9th. He completed a pre-algebra class at co-op during 7th grade, but when I gave him the placement test for TT and Math U see, he still seems to need pre-algebra. ...

Re: Inventor's Study

Thank you Lynn. I was pretty sure the teacher's guide was necessary. We will just wait until 8th grade :)

Inventor's Study

My son will not be doing the science box in Revival to Revolution, but I don't want him to miss the inventor's study. What books will he need to complete the study and is the teacher's guide necessary. At this time he is completing CtC for 6th grade. We are behind in the guide sequence and won't nee...

Re: dictation

Thank you Lynn. Can you suggest a good typing program. My son completed the Dance Mat Typing when he was 9, but tested at a very slow rate at the end of the course. Because of this, he still doesn't want to type his work. I had planned on working on typing again this summer.

dictation

I'm needing a little advice about dictation. My son, who is 11, has been completing level 4 this year. In the fall, he seemed to be placed correctly(usually repeated each dictation lesson atleast twice), but as the year progressed, he started to struggle more. He usually needed 3-4 times to get it c...
