Re: World Geography - book selections for Fund. of Literatur
They are unabridged. Treasure Island is used in for the Literature. Around the World in 80 Days is used in the optional Living Library as Extra Credit towards the World Geography guide, if you so desire. One thing to be aware of in the guide it tells the student what pages to read. Your book may dif...

Re: Art/ Science Experiments ets.
One thing I have considered is doing the art projects during the summer or during breaks or other times when there isn't as much going on... it gives us something fun to do that is productive, plus provides some great review over what they have learned. :) Maybe that could be an option for some of t...

Supplies needed for CTC, MTMM, and WH
Hi Ladies, If you have a moment could you look over this list and see if I forgot anything? I need to get school supplies this weekend, but all my guides are packed up (in the process of moving), or in the case of WH I haven't ordered it yet. I looked at the introductions on the website for each gui...

I sent you a PM, as I have good experience with both.
(And I do think that they are both great programs, just depends on your needs what works best for you and your child!)

Re: Question about Preparing
If you go to the HOD website, you can download a copy of the first week of plans: http://www.heartofdakota.com/preparing-hearts.php Then click on the PDF that says "First Week (600 kb), if you haven't already. It would help you see what is like. :) Once you download that, in the upper right corner o...

Re: Confused by HOD phonics & need reading help
Just wanted to say that if you continue with the Rod and Staff, one thing that helped my children when I used it, was to do most of it orally. That helped them a lot. I would choose what questions they would answer in the work book, the others we would do orally. (Kind of like how HOD recommends doi...

Re: BEYOND for 2nd, but what for K?
I love, love Little Hands for K! If he wants a little more seat type work you can add in a few of Rod and Staff's ABC series. Some of the ABC series books are used in Little Hearts, but you could easily sub. in ones that you hadn't done yet, if you got up to the books that are used in Little Hearts....

Re: New to HoD -- Questions about Placement/Combining
Don't know if I really have much more to add, other than definitely go by skills, not by book list or what you have or haven't studied, and really be sure you daughter is ready for CTC, as all the other posters have said. It really is so critical with HOD. You won't really see this the first time yo...

Re: DD Wants Public School
Praying for you Brenda! You could tell her that you did read her letter and that you appreciate her sharing with you. You can be honest and tell her that you need a little time to think and to pray. Then maybe give her a specific day/time that you will sit down to talk with her, so she can see that ...

Re: Skipping guides?
Praising the Lord for your son's healing!!! As far as skipping guides, I think you should just go on to the next one now and then as he progresses, you can evaluate skipping. You have several options, just depending on what you decide your goals to be, whether that be completing all the guides or hi...

Re: Substitutions????
You don't add them to your cart. On the cart page There is a box for "Ordering Instructions". There you would type what you want to sub with what. For example "For What in the World? Vol.1 (21.99), sub Level2 Student Book for DITHOR (21.95) If you have a catalog you can look on the very last page an...

Re: Little Hearts for His Glory for K, plus Genral ?
Stephanie, I had the exact same idea last night! So I think your reply is conformation that it may be a good way to go. :) I really didn't want to repeat LH, but I will keep that as an idea if LHFHG seems to be too much for life next year. Does anyone know the answer to my question about being able ...

Little Hearts for His Glory for K, plus Genral ?
Howdy all! Sorry I have not been on here in ages. :) I was wondering about doing LHFHG for K. I've always used Little Hands for K, but my one going into K in the fall really wanted to do "school" like his older siblings, so we started Little Hands when he was 4. We haven't finished it, but I know he...
