Another Placement Question

hi! I'm somewhat new to the program. We have had it before but we never had the school routine down for my boys and things were kind of crazy for a year or 2. I am wanting to try it again this fall now that we have a school mindset established for my boys. They are 8 and 5 (5yo will turn 6 in July) ...

Re: Schooling 3 Days a Week?

thanks!
I'm guessing by lack of response this schedule isn't too popular. I guess it would be more of a survival schedule for us, but not sure it is consistent enough for my kids! THANKS!

Schooling 3 Days a Week?

Is this possible with a pre-K & 1st grader? I also have 2 younger children and am expecting another in April! So maybe call it survival mode? just wondering if this is OK. If we double up on Monday and Wed. and then do Friday light - we've covered everything, right? Taking Tuesday to do field trips,...

Re: What level for K & 1/2nd?

Carrie, I think that will work great! Thanks for letting me in on the plan down the road. it helps to see sort of a "map" of where I am going! THANKS! :) it seems much clearer now in our plan.

School 4 Days a week - thread please?

hi! I know i've seen it somewhere on here. Suggestions for doing a 4-day school week. Which day do you double up - is there one that is lighter? We are using a combo of LHTH, LHFHG and BLHFHG but mostly the middle one. I'd love to get Fridays off. Usually we just did 4 days then the 5th on the follo...

Re: Having trouble scheduling ONE program

Carrie, I think what you listed would definitely work. I have 2 things plaguing me right now which I need to work out. DS is in between needing 1 and 2 naps. He typically can either take 2 small ones but I have to wake him early to be able to do this (so school would be done in chunks) or he can tak...

Re: Having trouble scheduling ONE program

I think the hang up for me is the transitions. Nothing is consistent from day to day. Science is not every day but also it is not always involve materials that we do at the table. Art is not every day. Then when I look @ the LHTH crafts are not every day. The letter activity SOMETIMES is a craft. Th...

Having trouble scheduling ONE program

I am having trouble figuring a schedule for one program for my 4 kidsl. I'd love to do the LHTH program with my DD as well. I just don't feel organized enough. Our baby's naps keep flipping. One day he is up at 6:30 and needs 2 naps. the next day I sleep in (and so does he) and we take a morning tri...

What level for K & 1/2nd?

I am assuming that for my boys who are 5 and 7.5 LHFHG is the right level. HOWEVER my 7.5 yo reading AND reading comprehension is 2nd if not near a 3rd grade level. Am I holding him back by using the same level for both kids? they are exactly 2.5 yrs apart. However I KNOW that my 5yo can't really li...
