Re: LHFHG: Heads up on Unit 16, Day 4 Devotional
Thank you for the heads up, we'll be skipping that one. There have already been a couple of things in that devotional that I wasn't crazy about but that definitely sounds like one I'd prefer not to read at all.

Re: Need some input/suggestions
Thanks Carrie, that makes a lot of sense. The work is quite a bit more challenging (esp. math) than it was a month ago....so maybe trying to fit all of our school day in at one time has become too strenuous for her and she's just shutting down. I'm going to try to spread it out a bit more like you s...

Re: Need some input/suggestions
Yes, we're doing all activities in the guide as it's written (with the exception of the math book we chose) and my daughter places perfectly into LHFHG. She's reading well so I think moving to LHTH would be too much of a step back for her....however I know that she's not bored to the point of needin...

Re: Need some input/suggestions
We actually do an outing of some kind almost daily- art class, gymnastics, co-op, and a weekly park day with our homeschool group. It's still a bit too hot and humid to be outdoors right now though (I'm in FL). I guess I just feel like we're stuck in a rut but I'm not sure how to get out of it.

Need some input/suggestions
We're on unit 7 of LHFHG and have had a rough couple weeks. For me, from a teaching perspective, I love the ease of HOD. My daughter (5 y/o) is getting bored and losing interest though, and each day is progressively harder. This is tough for me to deal with because she is usually very agreeable and ...

Re: Little Hearts for Kindergarten
We started LHFHG for DD's K year last week and so far we LOVE it. We're going full speed, but doing 4 day weeks because we go to a co-op on Thursdays. Even at full speed, it's only taking 1.5-2 hours per day at the most so far. I love the way it's organized because DD doesn't have a chance to get bo...

Re: Doing school with a busy 13 month old under foot
Great suggestions, this has been a huge help! Thanks guys. :D I have hope that the year will only get easier as he grows and matures a bit. We're just in this strange stage where he's still too little for most organized activities, and yet he's a bit beyond his age with motor skills. That means clim...

Re: Doing school with a busy 13 month old under foot
I wish! He's a climber so playpens aren't an option...but I think we'll definitely save the reading portion for nap time if that will cut down on some of the time he has to wait for us. Thanks!

Doing school with a busy 13 month old under foot
Who else is or has been in this situation? My kids are 5 and 1. I know many who homeschool and have 2 year olds, but often at 2+ they can do more big kid activities like Play Doh and understand a things little more. My 13 month old DS is VERY busy but still too young to reason with and he is into EV...

Re: LHFHG questions
Oh good! We already have that Bible so it's good to know that if we do end up starting ER's a little early I'll only need to buy the Beyond guide for now.

LHFHG questions
I know that since we all start the guides at different times of the year it's basically impossible to incorporate holidays into them, so for those of you who have used LHFHG and HOD in general, what kind of fun things did you do for big holidays like Christmas, Easter, etc.? Since it will be DD's Ki...

Re: Record-keeping
I would love to see some input on this as well. We're also in FL and this will be our first official year homeschooling (we just purchased LHFHG).
