They have been doing the Science included in that (basically studying dif. regions that went along with the countries). My oldest child of the 3( 7th grade) did the MFW with us this year (plus Physical Sci...

She will be using Missions this year. My oldest (13) is beyond the level of the other two. The 3rd and 5th grader have not...

Re: Curriculum junkie help!
If I think forward a bit, CTC does seem a bit over the head of where my current 2nd grader would fall when we reach that level. I used Preparing in 4th grade with my oldest that was an early reader and we had fun...My son will be in 5th grade...looking at Bigger --it seems too young but he is also t...

Re: Curriculum junkie help!
I have the 3 American curriculums side by side...and am leaning towards just going straight to Preparing. I agree simple is the best. Less is more less is more! I know it in words but it takes awhile to make it sink in all the way. Thanks for encouraging me. .

How does DITHOR work if you do more than one book in a genre
I see it is set up in the reading assignment section to choose 1 or more books. However, there are not workbbook pages for more than one book so do most of you just do the one book? If I did more than one, would we just choose dif. parts of each book to highlight on the workbook pages? I guess I jus...

should I start DITHOR yet?
My son will be going into 3rd grade according to age, but just finished BJU 1st grade reading/phonics online. It was a great year for him to get a solid foundation of phonics. He struggled so much before this. My oldest has used all the BJU reading text books through 5th but I am just about ready to...

Re: please help with reading!
Thanks for the replies. I will try reading through without stopping to explain. I never thought about it like that and I can see where keeping a constant pace would help him. We switched to a specialized program called Barton Reading and Spelling. It has made a huge difference and at the end of last...

Re: please help with reading!
Thanks for responding :o) My youngest will be 5 soon. We did use LHFHG last year but very low key as I had to really focus on helping my son learn to read. It was a difficult year but he is doing much better now. He enjoyed the storytime books the best but still struggled to stay focused. I actually...

We just started using Beyond with him. He's almost 8. He likes to start but without books full of tons of pictures he is all over the ...
