Re: Beginning high school Science plans....
I would either do conceptual physics or see if he wants to do science that last year. If he has the credits in by then and is not college bound, you may decide you are done.

Re: dyslexia and older guides
We're working through MtMM with my dyslexic son. When we did the lower guides, I read most of the books to him. He's been reading a lot of these books to himself.

Re: MTMM for partial high school credit - our scenerio
I would give a full credit for history. If you did math everyday, I'd also give a full credit for the algebra.

Re: Question about extensions
I would read them to him. I have a dyslexic son also and we started with Bigger when we started with HOD. He was on the higher end of the age range. I read him the extensions. We loved them. They were excellent books. As long as I was doing the reading, my son was content to learn/listen as much as ...

Hope this helps. What is your substitution policy? Substitution Policy: We understand that you may already own some of the titles in our packages, so we are now allowing substitutions within our packages to enable you to always take advantage of the package discounts. This is easy to do online. Simp...

Re: Two children using the same guide
I just had my children rotate items and only used one guide. One would work on math, while the other would use the guide. Then they would switch.
Purchasing a 2nd guide is an option, but I didn't need one when my children did Bigger and Preparing together.

Re: Ok, I've got a doozy placement question ;)
I would do Bigger again and use the Extensions, if you think he can handle the extensions. The books in the extension pack were wonderful.

Re: Fine Arts question using younger guides for high school
I was going to use it for a fine arts credit. It was suggested that I add in an additional type of art, also, such as pastels and to have my student study several artists to make it credit worthy. Depending on how quickly your child paints, you might have to add quite a bit to make it enough for a 1...

Re: CTC - Watercolor - High School Credit Worthy?
I've beefed up the rest, but since we haven't started yet, I thought I would inquire about high school credit for the watercoloring. I wasn't sure how involved it was yet. I've skimmed over a few of Lee Binz's books, but haven't gotten all the way through them. Thanks for the ideas . . .sounds like ...

Re: New Catalog??
I don't think the programs change at all from year to year. The only change we will see in the catalog is the new program coming out following WG. If you know what program you want for next school year, you can go ahead and purchase now. I think there were some book selection changes to DITHOR one y...

CTC - Watercolor - High School Credit Worthy?
I'm figuring out credit hours for my son for our upcoming school year. We will be doing a combination of CTC and WG guides and I think I have beefed up areas of CTC to make them credit worthy. He is dyslexic, so reading and writing are difficult, which is why we are doing most with the CTC guide. I'...

Re: Really behind-what can I do over summer?
We are way behind too. My plan is to work through all of May to get to Unit 14 or 15. We'll take June off because my kids are involved in a mission trip, VBS, and other summer activities. I'd like to get another 3 or 4 units done in July, then take another break before starting back up again ...

Re: I'm stressing about oldest....Carrie? Julie? Anyone?! :)
If it were me, I would still finish out Preparing. It sounds as if you life circumstances are still pretty crazy and aren't planning on settling down anytime soon. By keeping her in Preparing, she is somewhat familiar with the guide. I would think this would give her a greater chance of getting her ...

Re: Not going to finish Bigger this year. Need advice.
I would finish Bigger too. That's what we had to do. We didn't get it done in the 2010-2011 school year. I'm glad I didn't stop it and move on to Preparing. We are enjoying all we are learning in Bigger. I've seen my kids grow from when we started until now. We'll be able to start Preparing in March...
