Boxes in Preparing
I'm working on our planning for next year, and I'm wondering if anyone could help me figure out the (approximate) time required for each box in Preparing Hearts. It seems to me that I've seen posts that talk about that, but I cannot find any of them. :) We will be new to HOD this year, and I'...

Re: Preparing: Deluxe package, Extension package, or neither?
Thank you Carrie (and everyone else!). Your insight has been helpful. I haven't made any decisions yet, but I understand the choices better now. Time to pray about it and talk it over with my hubby!

Re: Preparing: Deluxe package, Extension package, or neither?
Well, cost is always a factor. :? Just one of the realities of life! :) But the extra insight is helpful. I already have the Draw Write Now book and the Usborne history text, so that would be enough to get us started with either package. I'm thinking maybe I'll just wait and see how it works and ord...

Preparing: Deluxe package, Extension package, or neither?
I always enjoy this time of year, as it marks the beginning of my preparation for next year! I'm looking over the packages for Preparing Hearts that I'm going to be using with my ds for his 4th grade year. I'm hoping that "talking out" my internal debate here will both clarify things in my min...

Re: Guides building off one another?
I think the difference is going to be that you as the teacher might need to guide the student more through some of the activities more if they haven't done the previous guide. If they have done the previous guide, then they will already have an exposure to something similar and will more easily be ...

Re: Guides building off one another?
Thank you so much for your reply. :D Doing Bigger really isn't an option for us for several reasons; the two main ones are we already have our curriculum for 3rd grade purchased, and we're in the middle of American history using Truthquest. We're really enjoying that, and aren't really looking to ch...

Re: The True Story of Noah's Ark, CD (Preparing)
I can't give any advice about your dilemma, but I can tell you that it looks like The True Story of Noah's Ark is just scheduled to be read - I don't see that the CD is scheduled at all.

Guides building off one another?
Hi ladies! I've been reading here for a while, since this is my first post I thought I'd introduce myself as well as ask my question. :D I'm married to my best friend (14 years this last May!) and we have three little boys ages 1, 3, and 8. We started hs'ing in K, and I've always put together my own...
