Tammy,
Thanks for the great ideas! I only have the Beyond manual right now, so when I get the Bigger manual, I'll check for tips.
I appreciate it!

Setting up notebooks/binders..?
Hi everyone, I will be using Beyond and Bigger this year with my dds. I checked to see what we will need and got the basic supplies. This is such a silly question, but how do I set this up for them?? I saw that you guys use plastic page protectors and tabs? I get the tab thing, separating sub...

Re: Do I need anything else? (Beyond/Bigger)
Thanks! It does help to double check my list. I really didn't need the Emerging Readers set for Beyond, but they came like that, so I bought them. I can always use the library and sell those.
I really appreciate the advice!

Re: Anyone with an AD(H)D child?
This may not help at ALL, but I had trouble like that with my dd last year (1st). I was at my wit's end and just started looking for info. I came upon an article in HSLDA about Right-Brain learners. At first, I wasn't sure that it would really be something that would affect her behavior/schoolwork, ...

Do I need anything else? (Beyond/Bigger)
Hello. I've just ordered the Beyond and Bigger sets and need help figuring out what else we need. I have the Beyond Package with everything including Emerging Readers, DITHOR manual, Student Book 2/3, and Handwriting (Getty-Dubay) for my 2nd grade dd. I'm not sure about the Math. I may go ahead and ...

DITHOR question
We are going to use Bigger Hearts for our 6th grade dd with the Extension Package. I feel that she would do better with the 4/5 Level Student Manual because she is very resistant to writing, but the books are too easy for her. As a matter of fact, she has already read most of the books in the 6/7/8 ...

Beth,
Thanks so much! I've listed what you're using and wrote down all the ideas from the link that you gave me. I really appreciate it and can't wait to get to Wal-Mart tonight!

Supply List for Beyond/Bigger
Hello everyone, We are going to order BJHFHG and BHFHG this week, but I wanted to know if there was a thread or somewhere that I could get a list of what we'll need. Our "Tax-Free Weekend" starts tomorrow and I'd like to get what they need while there is no tax. If someone could help me out with tha...

Re: DITHOR placement...help!
Kathleen, Thanks for both posts. This is really starting to make sense to me :) I didn't know that the 2 didn't mean 2nd. I thought the numbers had to match! Anyway, I'm so excited to start! By the way, you mentioned a book list that comes with the TG and Student Book. Isn't the list on the p...

Re: DITHOR placement...help!
Thanks, Lynn.
I saw a package where you can order the TG for 2nd-8th grades and 2/3, 4/5, and 6/7/8. I can get those and just pick and choose the books from the upper level and work from the lower level. Great idea:)

DITHOR placement...help!
We will be using Beyond for our 2nd grader in the fall and Bigger for our 6th grader in the fall. I just read that I should pretty much place my 2nd grader in level 2/3. Is there a list of "regular" books and 2 more lists that are more challenging? She reads very well and I'm sure she could handle t...

Anyone using alternate LA/Math?
Hello, We're planning on using Beyond and Bigger with our 2nd and 6th grader in the fall. I'm not sure about the Language and Math. I'd love to just use the suggestions, but I'd like to check out other options. Will a change in programs still go with the manuals since Carrie uses R&S and Singapore??...

Re: Is 6th grade too old for Bigger?
Ok...now I'm rethinking my decision! If we've never done HOD before and my upcoming 6th grader is distracted very easily, would Bigger still be ok for her? She placed between Bigger and Preparing, but to be safe, I thought I'd better start with the lower level and work up. What is the best p...
