coming back to HOD, and special needs
Hello, I did one year of Heart of Dakota in 2012-2013 with my oldest daughter. She completed Bigger Hearts for His Glory. I also did part of Little Hands to Heaven with my second daughter. I really liked both programs. We stopped using HOD after that one year because we were not in a position where ...

Re: How to juggle three levels?
For Little Hands to Heaven, I had planned on only doing the finger plays, and the Bible story to go along with calendar time and other large motor activities for my 2 year old. I like the suggestion of having kids play together, but I am honestly not sure it would work with my 2 year old and either ...

How to juggle three levels?
Hi all. We are finally going to get to use our HOD curriculum. I bought it 2 years ago to do with my oldest dd. She was just about to turn 7 when I ordered it. (Bigger Hearts for His Glory) My third dd had a lot of medical stuff going on and it had me travelling from Japan to Hawaii every 6 months, ...

Re: Another question
I'd take them if you can. Are you allowed a backpack? Perhaps each student could take their own?? Are you evacuating from Japan? Praying! THere are too many books for the kids to carry them in back packs. I need to bring the entire cirriculum because We don't know for sure how long we'll be in the ...

Another question
I have another question. Kind of a what would you do type thing. As I was packing, I realized that I will have to pack a suit case just for homeschool books. Would you just have your dc do an online school like time4learning.com during an evacuation type situation, or would you bring all your school...

Re: Opinion
We already do the work at a very slow pace. We're just now finishing up unit 4 and we've been going at it since October. Granted we have had to take weeks off due to my travels with my youngest. I'll just keep plugging away at it like we've been doing, and ask questions as I can. Thank you all for y...

Re: Opinion
OK, new question. Since we are voluntarily evacuating, I am not sure if I will be able to order a new guide and all the books that go with it. We are not sure what our pay will be like once we leave. Is there a way to lighten the load a bit on her and keep her in Bigger? Thank you all for your praye...

Re: Opinion
Thank you Shelly. I think I have decided to step her back. This may be the last time I can check my post for a few days/weeks. We live in Japan near all the earthquake/nuclear stuff going on. They offering a voluntary evacuation from the area and so I'll be getting ready for that. I'll to get back o...

I haven't been on here in a long time. My 13 month old has some medical problems that has me traveling from Japan to Hawaii every 6 months. Anyway, to tell about us again, I am Rebecca. I have 3 girl, they are 7, 4, and 13 months. My 7 year old does Bigger Hearts for His Glory. We have only complete...

Seriously frusterated
I am so frusterated with my daughter. She turns 7 on Sunday. She is very smart and catches on to things very easily. We're doing Bigger Hearts for His Glory this year. The work is not too hard for her. But getting her to write anythning is near impossible. Copy work, just to write one sentence it ca...

Keeping little ones busy?
I am having a hard time homeschooling my 6 year old and my 3 year old. My 6 year old loses focus very easy if I try to work with my 3 year old at the same time as I have her doing work. I have to keep my 3 year old busy while my 6 year old is doing school otherwise she gets into stuff and bothers my...

Re: Got my BHFHG
Thanks for the ideas to help keep things a little normal through this time. I mostly don't take my older girls with me to appointments. While we're here my dh comes home to watch them, then for appointments outside of Japan I can't take them with me (which will be very hard on me and the girls). If ...

Re: Got my BHFHG
Thank you all for your responses. We only have been able to complete 3/4 of one day. My youngest dd, who is 4 months old, is having some major medical problems, so school is being put aside for a while. At least for the rest of the summer. I'm so disappointed because I really wanted to continue thro...

Got my BHFHG
Yay! I got my Bigger Hearts for His Glory last Friday. We started it yesterday (Monday) and this is perfect for my daughter. It has the right amount of challenge to stretch her. I have a question though, would it be ok to do some of the English orally? My daughter HATES handwriting and it takes her ...
