Hi Mary, I wanted to share with you my experience with The Reading Lesson. This would be my second time around with the program, my first with my daughter then my son both whom were 5 yo when they started. What I liked about it, is how the reading stories are built into the chapters, which thrilled ...

Re: Placed my order for Beyond

You are so in for a treat with Beyond. My dd6 and I are on unit 3. I don't know who's more excited to do school each day, her or me. It's really a great program and so well put together. Enjoy this time, it's truly special.

Re: A couple of questions.....

Hi Karen, I won't be able to encourage you on DITHR, we're not there yet. But hopefully I could offer you some encouragement with TRL. Boy am I so famililiar with the *sigh*. We started TRL a little over a year ago and getting to lesson four was tough. I was frustrated (this was my first time hsing ...

Re: Considering Beyond...

Hey we must be sharing the same kid! Everything you mentioned is exactly my dd. They share the same age and same birth month. We too will be finishing up LHFHG sometime late June (turning 6), we'll take a few weeks off and start right into Beyond. All the boxes were just right for her, however she t...

We plan to take a few weeks off in June and start back up with BLHFHG for her first grade year. As far as pacing, I basi...

Re: The Reading Lesson question

I plan to use TRL with each of my little ones when it's their turn (I have three more in line). So I definitly want to take care of this book. I've copied a few pages in the beginning, but found in later chapters it's just as effective to just use her finger to draw lines. I started my daughter abou...

Re: TRL cd rom

Hi there, I bought the cd with the book, and my dd5 loves it. We are half way through chap. 6 doing about 2 pages a day. In the beginning when everything was really new and we were getting our groove the cd came in handy for the days she was struggling. I also used it as an incentive to get a page d...

Re: LHTH?

If you're referring to your DS joining in on LHTH, that's actually the funnest, sweetest program to join in. I would just mainly keep the focus on your dd when it comes to learning letters and numbers, and have ds join in on bible stories and activities (things you can pull off as a group)when he wa...

Re: LHTH?

Hi there, I'm doing now what you're questioning. My dd5 is doing LHFHG, my ds3.5 is doing LHTH and my dd20mths is getting in to everything. My plan for my ds is to do LHTH over 2 years and move on into LHFHG when he is 5.5 (Feb. b-day). As far as my dd20mths. (dec b-day) I plan to start LHTH from th...

Re: The Reading Lesson

Hi there, we are also doing the TRL, we're on lesson 3. Sounds like our kids are about the same age. My dd was more frustrated with the lists than bored, but what I found with her is the companion CD I bought with the book covers the same 'frustrating' words but makes it fun for her to sound out. I'...

LHTH quest. and intro.

Hi everyone. I have been a major lurker here for awhile, and after having so many of my personal questions answered on this board just by reading the posts, I do have to ask for some help in a simple decision. First I'd like to introduce myself, I've been married for 15 wonderful years and have thre...
