Question about DITHOR
Hi everyone! I have a third grader age 8 who will be doing Bigger this year. He pretty firmly places in Preparing in every box except for Age, but i want to do Bigger this year with him so we don't hit the upper guides too early. Anyway, I am wondering if you can do the level 4/5 book packs with the...

Boys and Girls of Colonial Days
So we are using Beyond this year and just started reading Boys and Girls of Colonial Days. The copyright of my copy is 2008. None of the page numbers listed in my guide seem to match up. I can't seem to figure out what pages to read each day? Is there an alternate listing of pages somewhere? The cop...

Re: What do I do first? LHFHG or MFW K?
We just finished Little Hearts for my sons K year. He has a June birthday so he was 5 when we did it. He did totally fine, but there is no way he would have been ready at 4. As it was it was stretching his abilities to understand the History readings. Everything else he was doing at a first grade le...

Re: Does anyone use an outside planner with HOD?
I have been using Scholaric this year and love it! I don't type out all the isntructions for HOD, I just type in Unit 2 day 1 and so forth. But I do put in ours math and spelling because we do a different curriculum. I like it because it lets me know when we will be finished with a certain book, or ...

Re: Week in Review - Feb 5 -10
Hello ladies! It has been awhile since I posted an update, but we are plugging right along with LHFHG. We were planning on being really close to done (should have finished in March) but due to sickness (both my husband and son got chicken pox in October!) and I had another miscarriage :( so we didnt...

Coloring Pages for "History Stories for Children"?
My son seems to listen and get more out of the history readings when he can color a page about what we are reading. We have the coloring book for "History for Little Pilgrims" but I'm wondering if anyone has any resources for other coloring pages?

Re: LHFHG questions.
We go over whatever questions there are at the end of the chapters. Most times he doesn't get the questions right at the end of the "History for Little Pilgrims" book though since you don't read it straight through, and it usually takes awhile go through each chapter.

Re: Completely in love with LHFHG!!!!
We are really enjoying our time this year with LHFHG. I feel so blessed to have found this great curriculum! It is really giving him a gentle introduction to history and he is growing in his listening skills so much. At the start of the year he couldn't follow the Burgess books. Now he really likes ...

Re: Do I have an old edition of LHTH?
I also had the old manual. You can just read the "A" devotional the first week, the "B" devotional the second and so on. If you don't want to do that, you can search for the older devotionals used online. Have fun with Little Hands! It's so fun!

Re: What age is too young for DITHOR & Beyond
Thanks for your response. I really like the idea of just getting the level 2 books and not doing the full DITHOR program. I never thought of doing that.
Thanks!
Thanks!

What age is too young for DITHOR & Beyond
Hello! My son is 5.5 and we are in week 21 of LHFHG. I am trying to decide what to do next year for first grade and I think we will move on to Beyond even though he will have just turned 6. (we school year round so far). He loves reading and is working his way through the emerging readers set as we ...

Re: New to this...when to start LHFHG
Hello! I was in the same situation as you and what we did was add in the rest of the Rod and Staff preschool books to keep my eager learner busy. We saved the "D" and "F" books for LHFHG but used the ABC ones during LHTH. I also added HWOT preschool workbook. That made it a bit meatier and he loves ...

Re: Need Wisdom: DS in LHfHG, advanced LA
Hi! I'm not sure if this will be helpful to you, but I thought I'd post and tell you what I'm doing this year with my little one who is in LHFHG. He is 5 (just turned in June) and an avid reader. I already had the Beyond manual so we started the emerging readers and he is flying through them. I adde...
